You fail it. Information wants to be *free*. Why should I pay hard-earned money just to listen to a band for an hour or two, and end up empty-handed? I deprive *no one* of *anything* if I have a mate let me in the back entrance of a club. Sneaking into concerts is the new downloading music. Nice try, but fail. Your body takes up space that otherwise could be occupied by a paying customer. Until they start building 'Nightclubs of Holding' that is.
"Shady"? Come on, it's pretty obvious that the vast majority of those reviews were written people who had never even seen the book. They were just bashing the author. They deserved to be deleted. Just as she should apologize and retract her statements. Has that happened yet?
The reviews appear to be erased. I was browsing through them, laughing all the way, and now Amazon states there are no customer reviews for this product. Shady.
I'm suprised he even dignified her with responses. Personally, I would have politely stated that it's obvious that the interviewer has no idea what she's talking about, and until she makes the effort to properly research the topic, an interview is a waste of everyone's time. I would have no problem discussing legitimate criticism. But baseless slander is completely unprofessional, and I refuse to debate with the willfully ignorant.
Paragon/Renegade doesn't affect dialog choices. Your Intimidation/Charisma skills do. It's simply that using those skills tend to accrue renegade/paragon appropriately.
I don't think the system was suppposed to be Good/Evil. Shepard is a hero. (S)he is, at the core a good guy, fighting the good fight. Paragon/Renegade simply define the character a little more deeply. The best definition of Renegade is that you accomplish your goals no matter what the cost. You're ruthless, but not evil.
I find it interesting in my paragon playthough that some of the choices I think are Paragon end up being Renegade. Upholding the law 'too much' is renegade, and makes sense now that I'm getting used to it.
Right, but when you're first playing the game it seems safer to hoarde things as you figure out what they do. After a while you realize you don't need to keep anything you aren't using, and you generally don't need to buy anything but med-pack/grenade upgrades until you can afford spectre weapons.
No page-up/page-down functionality. Those lists got really, really long.
No way to cancel out of the upgrade screen without 're-upgrading' the current mod. Which is at the top of the list you have probably just scrolled to the bottom of.
No indication of how much stuff you have relative to your limit. A simple ###/150 somewhere on the screen would work.
asked for a threesome with Liara and Ashley first time through ("In your dreams, Commander!" -Ashley) etc. Wow, I totally missed that on my renegade playthough.
OpenGL is lagging behind DX, but in this new market where porting is of increasing importance, will we see developers abandoning DirectX in favor of OpenGL? Since they are now taking their DirectX code, wrapping it in Cider, and calling it a 'port', I'd say no. If anything, it will swing the other way, helping MS even more. Thanks Transgaming.
The Mac 'version' (and I use the term loosely) of Spore is going to be like the Mac 'version' of Eve online. Crap.
I really don't like what Transgaming has done to hurt non-Windows gaming. Why would a developer make platform independant games when they can keep coding for Windows and use Transgaming to churn out buggy, half-assed ports? Thats all we have to look forward to now, with the rare exception of a Blizzard title.
Playing Chess well requires that you plan ahead and anticipate your opponent. That is a skill. The knowledge covers what the pieces can do.
Chess has a basic about of knowledge requisite to play, (Piece capabilities and rules) while it requires a great deal of personal skill to play well.
WoW is the opposite. It has a complicated tool/rule set that is used to achieve very simple goals. The only part of the game that remotely approaches the skill requirements similar to a game of chess would be organized PvP, and even that doesn't require the same level of planning. The raid game is only difficult because it is hard to coordinate 25 people with any precision, and failure is harshly punished. The actual requirements for success are very basic.
If a group of players can complete a difficult encounter, then how is it 'handed out for free'? Everyone has to do the same thing to complete it, just now those who do it first can't cockblock everyone else.
And again, You are confusing knowledge with skill. Playing WoW at the high level requires a decent chunk of knowledge. The actual mechanics of gameplay are quite simple.
The poor performing part of the Air isn't the proc, but the HD. 4200 rpm drive is really slow. Going from a 5400 rpm drive to a 7200 rpm drive in my mbp made a huge difference in performance. I can't imagine going down to a 4200 rpm drive. Try to find a 1.8" drive faster than 4,200 RPM. For people who feel that 4,200 is too slow, you can either get the SSD, or get a different laptop. (MacBook, or MBP)
"Imagine a giant cockroach with unlimited strength... a massive inferiority complex, and a real short temper... is tear-assing around Manhattan Island in a brand-new ZFS suit." ...Cloverfield?
What counts as an 'education'? When someone says they have graduated High School, what does that mean? Does it mean that they have a piece of paper or does it mean that they have attained at least a minimum amount of knowledge in a variety of areas? The solution is standardized tests, of course! They solve everything!
Shoot. REAL artists pay YOU to listen to their music.
(In Soviet Russia?)
It's kind of funny when you realize 90% of the point of WoW is collecting clothes and acessories for your character.
Remember, REAL artists don't want money, and would happily live penniless if they could give away their lifes work for free.

Ahh, was not aware of that. Boo. I swear, I've gotten renegade points after using charm to coerce someone.

Well, no MORE buggy than the Windows equivalent. :P
I was under the impression that iD was on the DirectX bandwagon now.

Only if it's called The Crushinator.
