    That the court overturned the conviction on grounds of improper venue does not prevent the Gub'ment from going after him again in the "proper" venue. If he makes himself enough of a pain, it could be sooner rather than later. Certainly they are watching him closely now.

    The cards are stacked against us, but if enough people ask them to reclassify Internet broadband as common carriers the FCC will cave and do the right thing.

    Nonsense. Since when did the "people's" views make a difference in this (and many other) issues? The fact is that broadband providers and other big Internet interests simply haven't yet ponied up enough cash. It's like Government X tooting about how they are going to dump Microsoft for some Linux distro and OpenOffice... It's usually a thinly veiled request for financial consideration.

    Just as the NSA paid to put a backdoor in RSA crypto. I wouldn't be surprised that NSA was paying businesses to put backdoors in their systems. Is money, coercion or an incentive?

    Microsoft would need considerable *more* money than RSA to make it worth their while. Microsoft could buy RSA with the spare change they waste on stupid hardware and software projects that they later abandon. Iâ(TM)m suggesting that the NSA canâ(TM)t afford Microsoft, so they would need some other leverage.

    I don't think Microsoft was ever interested in cooperating with the NSA, but eventually they were compelled to heel. It wasn't a love affair, it was a shotgun wedding.

    And your source for wether microsoft was willing or not is what exactly?

    How about *your* source, Mr. AC? It's all speculation, but there is no rational incentive for Microsoft to do such a thing without coercion. Can you show that? Has Snowden commented on this?

    What I thought was just a minor bug is actually a much larger problem. One that, apparently, Apple has no idea how to fix. Apple said the company is aware of the situation, but it's not sure how to solve it. One Apple support person said: 'This is a problem a lot of people are facing. The engineering team is working on it but is apparently clueless as to how to fix it. There are no reliable solutions right now â" for some people the standard fixes work immediately; many others are in my boat

    Interesting that the "story" - such that it is - contains no links to substantiate such a huge issue. People, what some low-level help desk monkey tells you about "the engineering team" can probably be ignored, and assumed to be something they fall back on when they have no real answer for your isolated edge issue.

    This is not part of Detroit's marketing plan. No one owns a car for 10 or 20 years anymore, for the most part, they simply don't last that long. Want to own a car that long? Look to Europe, and maybe buy a Volvo.

    He posted on Reddit because he was trying to get into contact with NOAA, which is apparently difficult to do (when he contacted them directly, they didn't provide any means for him to get it to them; perhaps not even aware of what he was talking about.)

    Bullshit. The package had contact info that the receiver chose not to thoroughly pursue, and his story related to that doesn't hold water. Reddit is not the proper place to contact NOAA unless you wish to gain the kind of "street cred" that whoring bullshit at Reddit gains you, while calling a few numbers and taking the time to look into ownership is not as "sexy" to a "Redditor".
