Seriously, most of us capable of seeing the negatives don't need help from the poster to see them. All those who don't see these licenses as not completely open source aren't going to have their minds changed by mini rants.
Are people just heart broken that Apple locked down the phone so much or what? If you want to support open platforms don't give Apple your money. I don't think it was a secret before the iPhone began sales that it was going to be a closed platform. Just like anything, support what meets your needs/wants.
one can only hope that such never takes place. but posters are always quick to remind others that businesses are profit oriented only, yet seemingly reluctant to believe that such conversations are likely.
Luckily for me, I only use GMails webmail interface for my mailing lists, which any and all attackers are free to have. My personal account comes via encrypted POP. Thanks to Gmail for that option.
Is it really freedom if the authorities can simply switch charges against you when their primary charge doesn't work out? Like this terrorisms converted to mail fraud? Or arresting someone for resisting arrest? Keep in mind, that this is what is purposely being exported to the rest of the world.
People make it seem like life and all these problems suddenly sprung into action. People grew up and dealt with these problem before. They should be able to do so still.. or are people devolving?
This feature is available in FF 2, and is disabled by default, and as has to modes of enablement, only one of which sends data to Google? So now people shouldn't even be allowed to choose to send their data to Google? Does kdawson and iritant not use Firefox and see this feature here for ages now?
I don't know about you guys, but when multiple pieces of software run slow on Linux, I blame Linux. Maybe that is because there is no OEM in the mix, but it seems fair to blame the operating system for not doing the necessary management to run my apps at a comfortable pace.
Therein why Microsoft is rich. They long ago found out that people are more than happy to pay for a product, regardless of if they themselves think the product is a POS.
I wouldn't mind. I maybe would downgrade to ME if all the software I need works on it. ME to me is as good as WindowsXP, as in I do not prefer one over the other.
I find this bug kinda ironic since one of the big pros attributed to Excel over OO Calc is that it is so useful for data manipulation. Yet, the number which results in the bug isn't ever a particularly big number - well within a practical use case.
Why does everything in computing have to be dumbed down? Why aren't other professions subject to this?

Are there any electricians, or mechanics here who have the problem of too much choice when they go over to Sears, or where it is that you shop at?
Guess you didn't bother to read the argument put forth in the summary.

I wouldn't buy a PS3 for that game, but I do not consider myself typical by any means - I play Super Mario World, Wii Play Mario Party on my Wii.

well, they built that type of user, they get to deal with it
sucks for you
no one in who's really into open source thinks that people shouldn't make money off of it; that is just ridiculous and borderline dangerous
everyone doesn't compile OSS software themselves
Call them when you've bought a few hundred copies, you'll be more important then.
Seems like a fairly on-topic question. Anyone know the answer?

How did Windows Update just suddenly break on every copy of Windows any ways?

The thing is, the RIAA/MPAA assumes that I would buy the stuff otherwise. I hardly even pirate most of their stuff, far less buy it.
