    There is a difference between not being allowed to do something and making something illegal. If you can be charged on sexual harrassment grounds for doing something which no-one can see unless they specifically look for it, that isn't the way things should be.

    Note: This does not mean I don't think that it's ok to fire people for looking at porn.

    X still takes me a few hours on an Athlon XP 2000+ with 256MB RAM. Not exactly a speedy package.

    An embedded version would be better as a complete rewrite, without anything that wasn't absolutely necessary.

    I played an instrument until a year ago, when my chiropractor said I couldn't carry a euphonium around anymore. And that the bones in my neck moving around have adjusted my voice somewhat.

    And well, I can't get condoms for free, but my mum works in a chemist, so i can get them significantly cheaper.

    And over here in Australia everyone gets free hep shots.

    And then of course, here, everyone except me seems to suck at using computers. Except for the art and media students, but they've all got G3 iMacs, and G4 Powermacs, running OSX.

    I'm gonna miss the macs next year ;)

    But anyway, back on topic, no, I don't expect to get any sex anyway. As a Gentoo user, I expect to get some when it finishes compiling. Which rules out any time during high school ;)

    The problem is that if cleanup is not on the same screen, it can be hard to follow the flow of the code if goto is not used carefully.

    None at all is better than too much.

    It's the same all day, but so far I haven't had time to do a traceroute, when i get 10 seconds to bypass the permissions to cmd.exe I might take a look...although school ends tommorrow so I won't have time anyway.

    I have helped someone to learn C++, and he used goto heavily. After reading his code...well, if you were there, you'd understand ;)

    I really meant it as a joke anyway, although there is some (quite a lot actually) truth in it.

    It's gotta be all going through one filter...beause I can't think of _ANY_ real reason why it takes 5 minutes to get a directory listing for the ftp server on my home computer.

    They have also blocked google image search. What they haven't really thought about though is: WHY would I want to look at porn at school? At home, yes. But over the DSL line where I have trouble getting directory listings of my home directory over FTP, how can it be possible?

    something_bad_happened does not say whether it was killed by being shot, or hitting a tree. It does not say where the enemy is. It doesn't say what sory of enemy killed it. The list continues.

    That may hurt readability somewhat, although I agree, less than goto.

    I'm more on the dev side as well (I'm 15, so only have to admin 3 systems), but from what I have experienced, development requires logic. Sysadminning requires logic.

    Users require violence ;)

    Could someone please explain when there is a need to use goto? I've been writing C/C++ since I was 10, but have never used goto once, at least, that I can remember.

    Personally, I think that anyone who uses goto shouldn't be allowed near a keyboard...but that's just me ;)
