Win2k servers need to reboot really often if they are running on really old hardware, and are serving a massive network of old PC's that can barely run Win2k themselves. It gets worse if you add in Domains, buggy DHCP, but to top it off, the whole network is comprised of 10Mbit hubs. USB printers are not allowed, only CAT5 printing. Run an overzealous Squid proxy and monitoring software on the same server, and you have just reconstructed my schools network. The server is always going down, and denying access to the PC's because there are no nonadmin local accounts. Downloading files blocks out the network for everybody. Microsoft Word crashes when you use a saved file(you can edit a file, but not load or save).
Oh yeah, you have to blank out all of the passwords periodicaly in case the users have forgotten, but don't tell anybody because that would be a security issue. I have been locked out before because I didn't know that they did this.
Downloading DivX files is perfectly legal, it is downloading copyrighted video that is stored in DivX format that is illegal. If I ever run a tracker(or however you start a file for download on Bittorrent) there will be at least a few video and audio files, but I don't know if the cease and desist bots know what bz2, gz, ogm, or ogg means.
Not accepting credit cards is a good thing. Do you know how much debt the average American is in because it is so easy to spend money that they don't have? The only downsides to cash are that it can easily be stolen and not recovered, and you can't spend more than you are holding.
Bush: China is producing weapons of mass destruction! These soda cans and radio transmitters prove it!
Bush: Russia is helping them! Look at how many trucks are crossing the border and going into these large buildings!
Vote for Kerry.
While this may be slightly off topic, put the hat back on. I was drinking my Coca Cola "V"(the new spelling of vanilla) today, and I noticed some writting on the inside of the bottle. It said something about not resisting and knowing that I want it. It was in light grey writting too so that it wouldn't be too noticeable. What are they trying to do?
Yes, but unfortunately it won't be done downloading untill today's PC's are last year's PC's. When will this be available on BitTorrent? I am currently getting a maximum speed of 20KB/s.
While that may work, you could go more legally by signing up for some PC magazines(my free subscription to "Dr. Dobbs" that I got from Linux World gets these) and then MS will send you lots of 180 day trials, and probably less than 180 days apart if you sign up for more than one magazine. You will need to reinstall every 180 days, but isn't that normal if you want your software to run correctly?
The page is still slightly different depending on what browser you use. I have noticed in the past that the IE version is the one with all of the scripting errors in it.
I would prefer getting a real computer that I can open up and add stuff to. It has to be Linux compatible, and preferably run MacOSX, but speed in Linux may outway the MacOS part. Case design is a bonus. I will not buy a junk computer just because it looks nice.
Ascii text, however, is around 300KB for a 150 page book. I doubt that they have 2,600,000,000 pages, but that would be more than 4TB. It can be reduced to less than 2TB by the use of compression.
Compressing images of pages of text is useless. That is like compressing a bitmap rendering of an vector file. The compressed images will still dwarf the source.
Only five? Would that mean that Klingon and 1337 are included? Would the books have to be written in that annoying overly abbreviated dialect that some AOL users speak? Sure, it is faster to write, but it takes for ever to make the ascii art with the tilde and degree marks.
I had Windows running stably for a while, but I hadn't been using it. I had been using Linux exclusively for weeks at a time, and didn't notice the "fatal error"s in Windows untill the Doom3 demo was released. There would always be a drive scan on boot, and after loading, it would run OK, for a few minutes, and then it would refuse to launch new programs, including CTRL-ALT-DEL launching taskman. Continueing to use it will eventually result in a message box that says something similar to "Doom3demo.exe: \n Fatal error.", and only an OK button. Once there is one error, there are more untill everything has crashed. Trying to shutdown gets the WinNT style logout stuff instead of the WinXP style.
I have had no problems like this before, but I have had worse. One time I updated Win95(required for DVD player with old PC) to Win98(required for update to ME), and then Win98 to WinME. Upon starting Windows again, I was shocked to discover that my executable files where no longer associated with themselves, and no applications could be run.
Kazaa and others are not designed for piracy. If they were designed for piracy this would be a different story. The Induce Act would make it illegal to possess a device that could possibly be used for breaking a law.
Yes it is. Congress is just looking for places where they can stick there noses. Space(like the internet) is far out of their legislation, yet the entire United States government tries to impose its laws on it. They may place rules on how rockets are launched, but once the rocket is in space it is neutral territory. If no damage is done to people on the ground, the US has no right to do anything.
Your wallpaper appears to boil, and you can't read the names of your icons. I made that rotsnake thing into a tile with the GIMP. I should find some way to unleash it on unsuspecting victims. Unfortunately, the effect seems diminished by way it is cut off on the ends.

(the buildings are grocery stores)

No, the guy in the article made a working large iPod front, but it just hangs around his neck.
Aren't there a few TV shows where somebody is frozen or goes into a coma and then everything is different when they wake up to a ruined world?
Yes, but unfortunately it won't be done downloading untill today's PC's are last year's PC's. When will this be available on BitTorrent? I am currently getting a maximum speed of 20KB/s.

PETA would be outraged, at least until they too are replaced my a grid of rat neurons.
4- profit!
Mutually assured destruction fixed most of the major threats didn't it? Does the US possess enough and fast enough weapons to actualy attack safely?

That was MY idea(really, it was). I should start writting these things before other people do.
It would be easier to make any E-Mail that the admin would open, and include an iframe in it.
That is highly unlikely. Most people who break in will try to install stuff onto the box to control it instead.
Go directly to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
