I think that most are not on "disability" benefits, but rather they are on social security benefits as strange as that may sound.
I have personal experience in the "system" treating such people (I was not the one getting the treatment but a friend). It's a nightmare in itself. The trial and error cocktails of drugs that my friend goes through over and over really sucks. I don't think she will ever be better, but she is really taken care of pretty well as far as having basic needs.. housing, food, medicine etc..
I think IGT, Williams, or Bally, (3 biggest manufacturers) Would probably make awesome voting machines, if they were contracted to do so. The hoops they have to go through now in keeping things cool with the gaming commission make a voting machine seem like a piece of cake.
Well, a slot machine is a single player game. Now maybe you can play Solitaire for hours with a grin on your face, but if you do then your destined for a padded room.
There are some people who are real social animals, and will talk to strangers while playing the slots, and have a great old time.. but if you are spending money to try and win some money, your probably concentrating on the machine, and wishing that this person would find themselves someone else to chat to. Maybe this doesn't seem fun to you, but it is to many people.
If you crave social interaction then most table games are where you'll find it. Some dealers are quite chatty, and many (but not all) players as well. This is where you will find the noisy people who do the rebel yell when they win ten bucks.,
I have hit thousand dollar jackpots at the machine and not made a peep. (video keno is my game).. Now maybe to you as an observer it may seem I am not having fun, but I don't care, keno paid for my last trip to germany.. It's all different strokes for different folks. I think the same could be said about golf (which I also enjoy)
These machines are very high tech.. better than voting machines. You put money into a machine and it doesn't register correctly, they open it up and find the last bill put into it, and can check what was registered and when, and what's been played since the bill was put in... Think they won't give you your money back ? ask to see a manager, if that doesn't work tell them you want them to examine the security tapes, if your still at the point where it looks like your not going to get paid.. just tell them that's ok you'll report it to the gaming commission. You might be asked to leave if they think they were right, but you'll probably leave with your money.. However most likely it won't even get past the stage of them checking the machine.
I have never seen a machine register the wrong amount from reading a bill or ticket.. I have seen people who "thought" they put one denomination in, and come to find out it was something else.. but this happens to dumbos all the time when dealing with cash. The thing with the machine, is it's more honest than a cashier (or a customer for that matter)
Um.. beer wasn't suggest because of preference for beer.., but maybe because it sounds more like Fear ?.. the word used in the original Dune books, movie..etc.. although, you wanna use the hard stuff.. everclear might have worked kinda nice.
Locking is not half the problems that the whole cdma/gsm thing causes.
I think it was about 6 or 7 years ago that cingular and ATT were among a group of cellphone providers to switch from cdma to GSM, which given that the rest of the world uses it, only makes sense to me from a manufacturing sense. If your Apple selling your phone worldwide, then it makes even more sense to go with a GSM phone. (although I am sure they could have made it muti for some extra cost)
I would pay for PaintShop Pro for Linux.. like I did for windows.
However since it's not being done, I do use Gimp. It took awhile, but I can do pretty much anything a non graphics professional user like me wants to do.. I have just been using the stock install of Gimp (Ubuntu and Xubuntu).. I mean to one day search to see what other effects and filters are out there. not that the stock set is bad, but maybe it's just fond memories of PaintShop Pro that lead me to believe I could do cooler things with their effects.
have a very good instinct for self-presevation especially around tools that are designed so that they can be operated safely. I assume things are very similar in the US, at least in some of the more progressive states.
Reminds me of the joke.."What's the last thing a redneck says before he dies ?"
"What's this button do ?"
My brother worked in a machine shop, and they told that one over and over for years.
Not gonna argue the existence of god. As to perpetual motion, it may indeed be impossible if you define perpetual as infinite. But if you look at our solar system in motion.. and consider the amount of time it has been in motion.. well that's pretty close to what your trying to achieve with a PPM is it not ? So maybe as an absolute PPM is impossible, but maybe it is possible to get "close enough" to what you want in a machine like this.
I often see these hemp the miracle plant posts. I suspect if dandelions could do the same thing, most of these people could care less.. why ? because people don't smoke it and contemplate how great dandelions are. Now that's just my suspicions.. perhaps there are large numbers of non smoking hemp enthusiasts.
I guess it depends on the question, whether or not someone has "done their homework". If a google search finds you 20 results on a problem, and that person hasn't read any of them, then they are either lazy or don't know how to find answers. If it's an obscure problem, then answering not only helps that person, but others who run into it later.
I like him better that Hillary or Obama. I liked him better than Kerry. Although Kerry didn't do too bad debating Bush, I think Edwards would have demolished him.. He's a smart guy, and a good speaker. I think the Democrats screwed up on the last election by going with Kerry over Edwards. I think he's the best choice of the Dems now, but they'll probably screw up again and pick Hillary.
Prior to this decision, any price floor set by a manufacturer was automatically considered a violation of anti-trust laws
And yet a gas station owner in Wisconsin is forced to sell gas at a minimum profit of.08 cents, and not below, or be fined.
Sounds this decision is trying to reinforce this practice. What's wrong with not making a profit on one item you sell as long as you make a profit on others ?.. look at the places that sell.99 cent burgers, and then check out the price on fries and coke.
In a custody dispute like that, everyone resorts to trying to make the other person look like a bad parent. I think his 32 page filing was a response to his wife trying to make him seem like a bad person for playing video games with his son. Granted he would have come out better by saying he likes playing with his son instead of over analysing the whole thing, and writing a term paper. If he had a lawyer in the custody dispute, he must not be very good.
He does indeed seem to be a strange person. But up until I read about the car, I thought there was no real case against him. I would really like more information about the car.. guess that will come in trial.
I don't think the point of this German law they are proposing is to take away an individuals freedom. I think that when something bad hits the fan, they want to be able to investigate things like that persons email.. and if it hasn't been erased from a server for 6 months, they could go even deeper.
Now that said, I kinda doubt they would be able to eliminate anonymous email anyway. Pretty much anyone can create numerous untraceable web mail accounts. I have yet had to show any kind of ID, other than money, at internet cafes, so this law is pointless with no way to really track anything if the user has half a brain. Now when they start tracking who uses what computer where.. that would be different.
Table top, and bigger, lasers used for cutting materials have been around for quite a while.
I used to do waterjet cutting, and we had looked into laser cutters as well, but many materials are toxic when burned.. so we stuck with water. There are applications, where a laser is better. Wood is not practical with a waterjet because it absorbs water and the wood warps. Metals are problematic, but can be cut with laser, although much easier to add sand to a waterjet stream and cut it with water. I know that there were also cutters being developed using high pressure air. The waterjet machine I ran was made by Flow International, really an awesome machine. I kinda miss that job.
The reason this is bad is that "800 compromises" should be followed somewhere with "and (X) people were arrested and charged with..."
I am not a hacker, but you would think that their might be a "some" fear of getting caught and given a cuban vacation... 800 ? sounds like a lot to me.
And I thought HE was being overly defensive of the US...
I'm sure you know that not all yanks are ignorant dumb asses.. (although considering the last presidential election there are a fair bit). Just as I know that not all Swiss are either.
Well, I haven't heard anyone objecting to your criticisms of your experiences entering another country, because you haven't given any yet.
I perhaps have a different attitude toward visiting other countries than you... but that's ok.. I remember the trip prior to this last one, we had just got off the plane in Frankfurt, and in the airport was a smoking section, a man from the plane deliberately walked into the smoking section waving his hand in front of his face in that way the holier than thou non-smokers do.. Now I have to emphasise that he went out of his way to walk into this section.. and all I could think of was.. what is a butt head like this doing here ?.. What kind experience of culture is he going to have ? He obviously would be happier staying at home.
The US IS a great country, but having done some travelling I don't think "were all that", ok ?.. I hope you have better experiences in the future.

I think (not sure) he was trying to point that out.. here is this user having all these problems with Ubuntu, posting in a thread about Dell.

Whatever your reasons for doing that .. there you go.
Fear not, the capture and killing of a young yogsoth is all part of the great old ones plan.

It took almost 2 hours from the initial post... amazing.
Sorry, but I don't have any mod points.
