By taking all control and automatically removing or disabling a program, with the user having no way to stop or undo it you have much the same experience you would have had when you got a virus or malware.. Where I work, we also use McAfee but our IT controls the updates apparently because we were not hit by this. I don't know if the corporate version of McAfee is better, or if it is because the people who use the machines are monitored (so they don't do stupid things), but going by our systems you would think that McAfee must be the best AV software out there.. We just have no problems. In a year and a half I haven't heard of anyone getting infected with anything (and it would have gotten around).. but the flip side of this, is that our customers who have the commercial version seem to get hit with things all the time.

As a person in a job of responsibility, he was bound to follow laws and policies, but he was also making policies and procedures, and managing systems.. He managed it to the point where only he had the ultimate control, and then tried to use that control to prevent his bosses from removing him. He was basically holding city property as hostage, in an attempt to get things his way.. I don't know how he thought that would work, but he obviously has a screw or two loose to think it would.. Nobody likes to get fired. Your obligations to your employer when getting fired depend on what you were doing for them, and what property of theirs you have.. So you think a 14yo thoughtfully considers the motives and intentions of the people in a porn flick? Your error (IMHO) is that you believe a teen looks at the world in the same way as an adult. They don't. And don't take my word for it, go read any child psychology book and find out just how far a teenager has to go before their brains develop fully. They are hard wired to learn from adults and by example. How do you think they learn how to behave? By thoughtful consideration? They learn by imitation. And even if they instinctively know that what they're seeing is part reality and part fantasy, they are for the most part unable to draw an accurate line between the two. (Remember that many adults are unable to tell the difference between an actor and the character they play).

If this was so.. then you would have a hell of a lot of murders.. I don't propose that it should be encouraged for young people to watch porn.. my point is, that the whole idea that movies are a model that is automaticly emulated, or even "usualy" emulated, and become an imprint on how someone behaves is incorrect.

Sex object.. depersonalizing.. that's usually a feminist argument. There is usually no more depersonalizing of women in these films than the men in them. That someone may find them a "lesser" person, well that's on them, and I think they have serious issues. Do the films cause people think this way ? or is it the rhetoric of people who think this way.. if it's said enough it must be true ?

Android has saved their bacon. And this new model is doing very well, and probably will continue to. The numbers of people who are into running custom ROM's is not enough to make a dent in the sales.. The custom ROM users will go elsewhere, and there will be awesome alternatives for them.. and they will turn their technical noses down on the people who purchase the phone, because they (those idiots) can't do something that most of them would not do anyway.. It's bad for Motorola, as it was these very type of people (the geeks into doing ROM installs) who where a large part of the successful launch of the Droid.. they are the type who brag with enthusiasm about their phone and what it can do to the people with glazed over eyes who don't know the best way to spend their money on a new phone.. but the Droid brand already has made it's dent, and the sales of the newer version show that the brand has worked.

The urgency in dealing with an angry customer is yours.. You want to get them off the phone. The majority of "angry" calls are BS, and a ploy to get something free. Companies rewarding people for yelling at them is wrong.. I am not saying that compensating someone for inconvenience is wrong, that should happen.. However someone calling in yelling and screaming and cussing does not help resolve the problem, and usually wastes time that could be spent on solving the problem, so that you can finish and help someone else. Access to previous caller information can be useful, but it really depends on how thorough the previous agents notes and troubleshooting are. Often just a few quick questions to the customer are faster than looking up the notes on the previous calls.. but yes it's good to have them is you need them. I have developed a pretty thick skin in dealing with the angry customers.. All you can do is let it play it's course until either the customer is ready to start solving the problem or crosses the line into abuse and you disconnect them.. I have not yet had to disconnect someone.. so that is why I say the majority are BS.
