Ahh, it's so confusing!
Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no explanation and provided no data for this claim.
Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy men.
Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns four mansions, all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).
Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way to avoid paying his own.
Its rediculous to try and compose a metric for system specs simply becuase "better" is entirely too qualatative a term when applied to PC's
I agree, but with a caveat:
Those people who are less technically-capable will find this easier to deal with when shopping. Everyone has a friend/family member whose less technical and who undoubtedly is eventually in the market for a system.
Some of us would rather they buy a prebuilt than nag us to build them a system.
Telling them to buy a Level 2 instead of a Level 9 system (especially if they're just using it for email and Word) is easier than telling them they need a 1.6 Ghz processor (can you get anything slower these days?) with 256MB of RAM, a 40GB drive (or smaller), etc, etc, etc.
But, you're leaving out the 3' wing, the two bottles of NOS, the overhead LCD with Xbox and wireless controllers, the neon and the 2" lowering kit you slapped on your "base model" Civic.
Technically, you're correct. However, in your scenario you're stealing and anyone else taking from you would be guilty of receiving stolen goods.
Now, if you're ripping tracks to a CD that you purchased the **AA is saying that you're licensed to listen to the music and not the rightful owner. Even if you purchased the CD. This means that you've broken the license and are now guilty of theft.
Well, the Justice (for Some) Department is suckling at the teat of the **AA. The problem is, a majority of the US population doesn't know this; Or if they do, they've been lead to believe that all P2P programs are used by pedophiles and pirates.
A regime change may not change that, but we won't know until either this November or one four years down the road.
At least in this statement he sounds reasonable (from June 17). He's worried about viruses, spyware, and such, but realizes the potential for p2p networks
If he's worried about spyware, viruses, etc then he's going about it wrong. P2P has its legitimate uses (see Cloudmark's software - uses P2P to classify whats spam).
I'm moe inclined to believe that he's using the threat of viruses and spyware as a scare tactic against P2P. Typical politician jumping on the bandwagon to make himself look better.
Hahaha!
Honestly, if they want to "profile" people by asking questions - why doesn't eveyone just ignore them or tell the reps that you don't need any help?
No communication with customer = no profiling.
'Nuff said.

You have to pay for parking as well? WTF?
Do you have to have reservations to get into Denny's too?
Where the hell do you live that requires you to pay for parking to go to a freaking movie?
Actually, this is yet another attempt at the gubment attempting to outlaw something on the premise that it might be used to commit a crime.
So much for innocent until proven guilty.
I thought this was a democracy.
Next thing you know, we won't be allowed to assemble in groups larger than 3 in public at any time.

Will be one of these puppies.
Fsck all you tree-huggers.

You're not fooling anyone.
"Phantom". How appropriate.
I mean, c'mon. Anyone whose ever been in a vehicle with a correctly-installed high-wattage custom sound system could've told them this.
..and what the article doesn't go into is the fact that these guys were at a Poison reunion concert and were actually attempting to commit suicide.
Ever feel the air pressure when you're in a car with one of these? Ever notice how you can literally feel the air sucked out of your lungs?
Imagine all the pr0n, 0-day movies and MP3s you could leach down.
Too bad the **AA is gonna fight this tooth and nail.
Greedy bastards.
of nothing is still nothing.
Their lawyers are bigger fools than Darl is.
Ever think of using electrical tape? Is it really that hard to come up with a solution that doesn't PERMANENTLY disable the LEDs?

I mean, IF GWB is voted out, Ashcroft goes too. What's Kerry's stance, and the stance of whoever he'd put in place of Ashy?
Anyone know? Seriously?
Sucks. USAA is teh shiznit.
At one of the companies I worked for, the admin password on the end user systems was rather appropriate:

Get the first post?
I can see it now - Left-blink for rockets, right-blink for jumps and nose wiggles for weapon changes..
It's my belief that Sal is actually the one who stole SCO proprietary code.
Now, if only we can convince Darl that Sal's to blame..
I predict 2010 or 2011 by the latest.
And I don't believe it'll be because of SETI.
Laugh if you want, but remember this post.
..using the techniques given in the tech manual.
Hours of fun.
Damn, you beat me to it.
I agree 100%. My name's Mike. On all of my legal documents (including my DL) it's listed as Michael.
Why? Because I'm smart enough to realize the headache it would cause if I put 'Mike' anywhere.
