    i simply won't happen, for many if it ain't broken don't fix it. Perhaps it's possible to implement new standards into web browser quickly but what about other equipments? Digital camera, Photo develping station, and even high end tv that does jpg slideshow, not all can be fixed with a firmware update, if i am a ceo of sony, i too would rather pay a small fee to stay the way it is. Big company like sony won't take the risk and who cares what small company choose to do.

    Wow, that is a lot of NOs for something "fully supported". A regular toshiba or dell can handle linux just as well if not better (that's right, at least my internal 802.11g wifi card works perfectly under fedora and gentoo) HP has done a lot in terms of linux support, just take a look at all the linux supported printer! Great work hp, i hope toshiba will follow this lead some time soon.

    They think the release groups care about it? The album will end up on p2p sooner or later, and there is not one damn thing they can do to stop this. Just relax and release the song ASAP and thus minimizing the effects of an early p2p release.

    In my school, one of ipods cool factors is being one of the only few people having it. Unquiness(shining back, high price, limited quantity) is what is making ipod (and me) stand out in a crowd.

    Since all the source code is availible on sony, it should only be a matter of time before someone figure out on to run this thing on a x86 laptop, too bad i am no linux geek and the only distribution i ever tried was knoppix...anyway, perhaps someone can open creat a open source navigaion project that combines normal satelleite overlay / data imported from m$ mappoint and maybe allow individuls to upload small section of custom 3d building. As long as the populartity of the project is high, we can see a complete 3d database of all mretropolitan area are in a few years if not monthes.

    It's cool to just think about it...

    Most high end digi camera can already store large of pics in its frame buffer, so unless if you take more than 30 pics (which is most than enough for sport event etc.), fast memory card like this one would give you any signifcant performence boost.

    I suppose you can get insurance for it as well. BTW, it's fairly safe as long as you keep it with your device (camera, ppc, etc), unless someone want to steal it purposly or you tend to loss things regardless of their sizes.

    No, wea are talking about real java here. My school was going to get visual java on every computer for free, then microsoft backed other for some reason (lawsuit?) Now we are using the java package from sun, on top of that we use bluej.
