I couldn't help but notice that your link shows a pretty massive spike in fatalities between 2013 and 2014. Wikipedia shows 265 deaths in 2013 and 1088 in 2014. Then 898 in 2015. 2016 numbers aren't yet listed.
I personally don't care either way. But the link you provided does pretty clearly show a massive spike in the years mentioned in the original comment. The number of incidents is lower, but who knows what qualifies as an incident.
Did you hear about the guy who got hit in the head with a can of soda? He was lucky it was a soft drink.
Well actually, while the aluminum composite can is soft, it becomes rigid and takes on a hard texture when pressurized by a liquid inside. In fact, I would dare say he wasn't lucky at all if he got hit by a soft drink. Don't question me on this. Try educating yourself on the subject.
Actually it was me that asked. I just don't usually log in at work.
Your paranoia is a little weird. You should try some of that "getting educated on the subject" you seem so keen on.
A 30 second Google search lead me to a page on the FTC's website that says a credit freeze does not affect your score in any way. Sounds like something bad happened, and you should find out what it is.
You're right! The only people who care about removable batteries are people with the Samsung Galaxy S6!
There's no reason at all to think anyone else would care about it. You're very clever. Perhaps you should write a book.
My laptop's battery lasts about 4.5 hours with regular usage. However, it is about 6 years old. I will readily admit that I'm on my second battery. It was pretty obvious when my first battery died. It would quickly go from 80% to 0% within only a few minutes. I then went onto Amazon, bought a replacement for 15 dollars, and changed it out in about 30 seconds. Anything less than this is frankly unacceptable to me. Others may feel differently, but it's 2015. Let's not pretend this is a problem that hasn't been solved, even if some companies are actively working against it.
What's simpler than 4 remotes? One remote. What's simpler than unlocking a screen, scrolling to an app, opening the app, then selecting the function? Just selecting the fuction.
Just get a universal remote. They've been around for literally 30+ years and do exactly what you want. You're making things about 400% harder than they need to be.
Ever had a 32 bit bug on a 64 bit machine or vice versa? Not the developer's fault, I guess! Slashdot is now mostly stupid comments written by stupid people for a stupid audience.
Except nothing. Just because the knowledge can be obtained from different places doesn't mean it's worthless to get it from one of those places in particular... unless you place no value in knowledge, as was stated.
Dozens of little processing adds up to something more than a little processing. Point still stands. The comparison was done only to the central processor, which is misleading.
Close, but no.
It means that it is designed to be swapped out quickly *at an operating location*. The moon is not an operating location, at least not yet.
This is misleading. The rover has dozens of LRUs, all individually computing sensory input, crunching it, and sending it across the bus for the main computer to process. Yet it's only taking into account the main computer's processing power.
I honestly have no complaints about the current state of email clients.
Maybe I'm not using the current 0.09% of features, but I don't care about them. The current state is fine for me.
He said he looked down on people who supported dirty mega corporations. There's nothing bigoted about that, regardless of whether you agree with his standpoint or not.
You're kind of an idiot, aren't you?
Yeah, no doubt they're getting up there in years. It's time I suppose.
It looks like they're going to be replaced by J-models, which I personally don't care for due to how the vendor has a lifetime contract for the main mission computer. That in itself isn't so bad, but we still have to have a full government team working concurrently to develop the plane-specific OFP. Nothing to do with the functionality, but it's pretty wasteful. Personal preference.
There's still an MC-130E at the entrance of Hurlburt (at the museum, so findable using GIS) still outfitted with the sky hook last time I was down there. I believe the later CT1s have all had the functionality removed, but I'm a CT2 (MC-130H) guy.
Sadly, the E model is being phased out and even the development team has been shifted to other duties.
If you thought that was funny, you're going to *love* this new comedian Dane Cook that's making the rounds. Not sure what operating system he uses, though.

The guy pretty clearly listed two distinct reasons for not having one, and neither of those were what you suggested.

I would think a dumber (more ignorant?) statement would be the one that responds to obvious sarcasm as though it's serious.
I didn't read the GP has having anything *against* the child safety doors
An exception are back doors with stupid-child protection engaged

Seeing as how he mentions the Geforce GTX 660 specifically, I don't think he's talking about a 10 year old AGP system.

Not that your whole post comes off as incredibly biased or anything.
