GNAA / Google confirms: Linux is dying.

Here you have it: it's official; Google confirms: Desktop Linux is dying.
Now, you might be thinking this is just another cut & paste troll based on the typical *BSD is dying bullshit.
It isn't.
As you might have know, your favorite search engine, Google, has been running a little statistics service, called "Zeitgeist".
Since about a year ago, they started providing statistics of the operating systems used to access their search engine worldwide.
I will let the numbers speak for themselves:
If you've looked at even a few of these links, you don't need to be a Kreskin to predict
Desktop Linux's future. The hand writing is on the wall: Desktop Linux faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for Linux on Desktop because Linux is dying.
Things are looking very bad for Linux on Desktop. As many of us are already aware, Linux on Desktop continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood.
According to Google Zeitgeist, there are about 80% of
Internet Explorer 6 users. The only platform supporting Internet Explorer 6 is,
of course, Microsoft Windows. These statistics are consistent with the earlier presented graphs of the operating systems used to access Google,
with the Windows family consistently taking the top 3 ranks. Out of remaining 20%, the split is even between MSIE 5.5, MSIE 5.0,
GNAA != MPAA.
These are the facts:
The MPAA are gay, but aren't niggers, and are in fact anti-American.
The GNAA are gay niggers and are against the use of "open sorez" software such as Linux, created by Lunix Tarballs.
The MPAA is piggybacking on the success and popularity of the GNAA.
Are you greedy?
Are you a jew?
Are you a greedy jew?
If so, the MPAA may be exactly what you are looking for.
Are you gay?
Are you a nigger?
Are you a gay nigger?
If so, the GNAA may be exactly what you are looking for.
Do not be fooled by the MPAA, they may try to confuse people into thinking they are the GNAA, but don't let them succeed!
Anything that can be seen, heard, or felt can be copied. Nothing the industry will do can sucessfully curb duplication of music. The only factor that can cause a change is the people themselves.
The problem with spam is that it's too easy to send. With even a 56k modem you can fire off MANY messages in a matter of minutes. I think a good solution would be on the ISP end of things, and have them throttle connections to port 25 on remote machines. There will always be plenty of open relays, as idiots who just want to allow access to their mail server as quickly as possible will usually just allow relaying from everybody. The spam "hash sites" are great, but the problem with them is not enough people actively submit spam for them to be as effective as possible (not to mention there are numerous, non-centralized ones)
Hopefully, some day people will realize bulk mail isn't effective, but for now, since it is so cheap and easy to send, nothing is going to stop it anytime soon.
By principle these are going to be very costly and difficult to manufacture, I really don't see the price going down very soon. That being said, this is a very promising technology, and it may just be what is needed to get people (like me) to switch from CRTs (once the price goes down, of course)
Slackware seems to be so "classic" and "oldskool" that it's a surprise Patrick did this. While many distros have dumped sendmail, Slackware has kept it as the default MTA.
Heat efficiency is a must. I hope they don't do any odd dynamic clockspeed scaling to accomplish the daunting task of removing the MASSIVE amounts of heat generated by these opterons. TECs and Heat Pipes may be an interesting method of clearing the heat. Either way, it's a HELL of a lot smaller than even the smallest dual socket 940 board. A cluster of these would be very efficient spacewise.

How is this redundant? It was the first time it was posted.... jesus christ you mods are fucking idiots.
Microsoft denounces the evils of open source, but at the same time open their own source...
My name is Robert Dobbs
Actually The cyberdyne systems model 101 was just the endoskeleton. YOU need to get it right.
They need the T-101 on that list. :(
The decision to make Mandrake based on Redhat instead of Slackware has always bugged me, but it seems to have worked well for them.
Actually I added that link after they modded that post down.
How the hell was that redundant? It was the first post addressing the fucking issue! Jesus the mods here are fucking retards.
How the hell is this offtopic?
As if nerds who read /. don't have enough porn already...
The abundant Wi-Fi saturation in the area is actually causing interference between access points. The over-propagation in the area is incredible.
Very interesting.
Its for OSX, not sure if the grape can handle that or not The title is "Setting Up Mac OS X for a Teenage Coffeehouse?" so I would assume that it can.

hey man sendmail is the best MTA ever coded.
