my teet image?
seriously though, I don't like it when people give cash to people who use it to buy mailservers in china to flood inboxes and produce spyware that I usually get the task of removing from various family members' computers... but ok..
You people all (most) seem to not like unions. Why? Over here (Europe), they make sure we get the wages we deserve and don't get fired for stupid things like if the boss doesn't like you or whatever. I've never heard of any unreasonable strikes... Have you been indoctrinated from birth or do you have any real reasons to dislike unions?:)
I, being european, would be pissed about that. Especially after stuff like this. I wouldn't want an extension of the US. govt to have even more power over the web than it has today. I suppose we could just roll our own web, I mean, the rest of the world, but that would be kinda dumb...
It must be nice to be able to categorize the values of lives like that.
I don't believe there's an inherent *value* to any life. My personal preference is that I like it, though. I prefer humans over rats too, but maybe I'm biased. Let me repeat that for you: there is no inherent special value to living things. You may decide that all life is infinetly valuable, but that doesn't define it as a global constant, so to speak.
An american company has to pay the equivalent of one years profits to web-browser company Opera.

(Dagbladet.no): Opera Software has gained a nice chunk of cash after settling a case in american courts. According to a notice to investors the company sent out today, the company has agreed to pay Opera 89 million kroner ($1 = ~6.8 NOK)
The company is not a customer of Opera Software.
- We have presented a list of facts about a company, and we have reached an agreement with said company to handle this out of court. It is also a part of the settlement that we do not disclose the name of this company, says technical director at Opera, Håkon Wium Lie.
- Is this settlement over the WAP browser or the regular Web browser?
- This is not a matter of piracy or patents. We do not surrender any rights with this settlement, and we will of course concentrate on continuing to produce good products, says Lie.
Last years revenue for Opera was 78 million NOK, almost the size of this settlement.
- But we have bigger ambitions for next year, says Lie.
Has previously accused Microsoft
Dagbladet.no is not aware of which company this settlement is with. However, it is known that Opera has accused Microsoft since 2001 of intentionally blocking users of opera from using their web services, including MSN.com, by sending a special broken version to users accessing their websites using Opera.
On his private webpages, Lie details what happens when MSN.com is accessed using Opera.
Among other things, the CSS breaks the page, and so does weird use of HTML. When accessing the page with Opera, using a fake useragent, it looks normal. The "mistake" has been corrected after Opera pointed it out to microsoft.
The best thing is, it's the 17th of may, which is our independence day, or whatever you wanna call it. I can guarantee you, their sysadmin is NOT at work today.:D
It's like this: Herregud, hva skjedde med oppkoblinga vår?! Den beste delen av det er at det er 17. mai, nasjonaldagen, så VG sin sysadmin er garantert ikke på jobb:) stakkars...:D
Well, seems like there's 30 people who decided to build their hoses together. They probably know each other. They will get a much better deal by doing it themselves. If I was doing this, I'd not want the phone company in on the deal.
Hostile towards who? Us? or US? If you look a little closer, I think you will find that a lot of the funding for stuff like this comes from somewhere closer to home.

So you admit to funding the spammers? Hmmm.... what an ...interesting thing to do.
Ok, I guess I can make some more sense of their attitudes now. Thanks.

I read some place that there's an x86-native OSX version somewhere, only they won't let us have it.

Hmm... Couldn't that stupid cracker that broke into Cisco have done something useful instead?

Somewhat direct translation. Enjoy.
I believe a lot of cellphones use a piezo-electric device to generate the ringtones, could that have anything to do with it?
It came to me after reading about cluster of VIA low-power computers.
