i was thinking that it would also be cool if you could fit 2 lines of ur console output on the spacebar, e.g. so you can see which module failed to load launching this application.
You can try to switch the runlevel to a single-user or non-networking mode using 'init'
And then you switch back to networking mode and all relevant services have probably been restarted.
And they are right: ringtones, like the screen savers and plastic face plates that you can use to customize your phone, constitute a form of self-expression,...
Someone once advised me to do 'dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda bs=512 count=1' and then run lilo to solve some problems i had with booting..
He actually wasnt messing with me, but just not thinking very well and i just blindly did it.
Now, i managed to salvage a scrap of paper on which i had written the partition sizes at installation..
From this i reconstructed my partition-table with fdisk, ran lilo, and the system booted fine (and ran with that install for a year or so).
Ah.. the memories of when these things actually worked out okay..
Wasn't that about zinc whiskers from metal frames surrounding the computers?
In this case the whiskers grow on the electronic components themselves..

Yes it did.
I think that most people that are multi-tasking are doing a number of things quite shallowly.
Reading news, playing some tunes, writing a reply on slashdot... I have no real clue, but i doubt there are many people who are able to do immersive tasks (coding, studying) simultaneously and properly.
Yea, so you can print a picture of the virgin Mary on your toast and make a fortune on e-bay!
Hah, maybe the union site is just dropping connections from all the TELUS subnets. :}

Yes.. constructions like this always remind me of Stephen Fry's The Liar:
"She was not unaware of it's potential lack of insignificance."

And then there is ofcourse the solution to water problems in, say, Africa:
Water in powder form.
Add 2 parts of water to 1 part of powder.
Goes very well with an aspirin or just as a snack.
Well, you could store 80 gigs on ur new ipod, and the other 9 gig on ur old one :)

I wonder how much bandwidth is used to illegaly download media/software as compared to spamming.
