  1. Well, that's that on Employee Stock Options Must be Treated as Expenses · · Score: 0

My options at $95 (currently trading around $15) are still worthless. The options I just got are a little under the water too. Can't say I'm upset that options might stop coming, my employer might finally have to start giving our raises!

  2. Compounding the problem on U.S. Makes Plans for GPS Shutdown · · Score: 0
What about all the other users? Ships and aircraft which may be relying on it? Public road users trying to find their way home?

No kidding. Shutting it down would just make a localized potential terrorist act a regional one.

  3. Love and war on Interceptor Missile Fails Test Launch · · Score: 0
As far as the Missile Interceptor goes, I'm all for getting the system up and running. I figure if we really are under fire, we won't be pussy footing around with one anti-missle at a time. Launch a sheit load and hope it improves our chances of making contact.

Now on to your topic, better to have gone in with some intention of doing good. Would you have preferred this war be fought over a woman (or man to be PC)? How about over a religion? Oh wait, maybe that's the real reason we are there...

  4. Re:100+ years is all it takes on Better Nuclear Waste Storage Plans than Yucca Mountain · · Score: 0

Someone decided a while ago to mod me down for no apparent reason and ever since I haven't been able to improve my karma so I figure what the hell and I'd post things to just peeve people off. Nobody sees my posts other than you bottom feeders reading at -1.

  5. 100+ years is all it takes on Better Nuclear Waste Storage Plans than Yucca Mountain · · Score: 0

As long as it stays in there for my lifetime I could care less what happens to it after that.

  6. Complicated thought patterns on India Outsourcers Find Back Door in Canada · · Score: 0

Just because you think you're right doesn't mean the other guy is "not capable of understanding more complex thought patterns". Perhaps "not capable of understanding MY thought patterns" is more like it.

  7. It's about time... on Halo 2 Available on the Net · · Score: 0

    The French finally DO SOMETHING!

  8. Music is like a free egg roll with an entree on Iceland and USA Feel the Copyright Industry's Wrath · · Score: 0

If I wasn't going to buy the music, then how can they say my downloading of it lost them a sale? I know people with endless music archives. The music is there and free for me to listen to it, but if it cost anything I wouldn't pay for it. It's like that free egg roll that you don't really want but since it is free you take it anyways. They won't get my money either way, unless they sue me for something.

  9. Everyones a pirate! on 1 Terabyte Optical Storage Disks · · Score: 0
"All 350 scheduled episodes of The Simpsons, totaling 8,080 minutes of film, could be easily stored on the new disk..."

Their REAL motivation to do the project surfaces! Soon to be sold on Ebay "8,080 minutes of the Simpsons, digitally mastered onto one convenient CD!"**

**Must also purchase special player device ($49,999 retail)

  10. Preloads on Halflife 2 Delayed Again? · · Score: 0

So after pounding on the preload site worried I won't have all the parts before they activate the game, I find out I actually have 6 months to get them? Gee thanks guys! The only reason this isn't a scam is that it was free for us with the video card bundle ;-) I wonder how many more preload segments we'll have to get before they activate the game? I checked back yesterday and another segment was available.

  11. Engineering on Mechanical Pong · · Score: 0

Those Germans know their stuff when it comes to making expensive, beautifully created pieces of art. Take Audi for another example. I'd pay good money for this pong machine. Even just as a display device.

  14. TiVO is safe on The Programmer Who Could Save Tivo · · Score: 1

TiVO is safe because unlike a built-in PVR that you buy from your CATV Company, you're not locked into staying with your current provider. What if RCN or COX or whoever goes under?? Can I still use my COXiVO?

  15. Hackers don't go after the Democrats on Hackers Take Aim at Republicans · · Score: 1

  16. Wireless music sharing in a tree on Pre-802.11n Offers 4x the Speed · · Score: 1

Does this put us closer to actually making this possible? From www.downhillbattle.org: Filesharing in a Tree: A properly configured laptop with a WiFi router is a wireless repository for music, video, textbooks, whatever. Put it way up in a tree with a solar panel to make it darn hard to take down. Call the tree, "the music tree". I'd totally contribute a laptop and a router to give my neighborhood free anonymous wireless torrent DL's!
