I was looking at BluRay players the other night, and wondered why connectivity was even needed for such a device. That's an obvious reason, if an undesirable one from a customer POV. Are there BluRay players with open firmware ?
That a compiler and its libraries are treated as 'standardised' software (it is)
and
that source code represents the modification integration enhancement installation or configuration of the compiler and its libraries... (rather more debatable, but possible)
The extreme acceleration (g load) experienced by the Slingatron payload during launch would easily crush the human body or any other carbon-based life-form unit.
Seems we need to change to silicon-based.
If they can insert cannulas the first time instead of the sixth (last time I had one that's how many it took, with 3 different people trying) I'll go for the bot every time.
Which John Romero game had trolls in it?:)
Apropos the story itself, I don't see much wrong with a Academy of Arts CEO lying, if you do, your suspension of disbelief hasn't kicked in.
The problem is the game offers no challenge so its easy to lose interest. Anyone can play a character without ever grouping, max their level, and have good gear. Then you can do random dungeons with LFR in which you just sit and are thrown in a group, run the dungeon, get some raid gear. Once you have decent raid gear you do LFR again for big time raids and just walk through them. Without any real effort you can see 98% of the games content.
With just a little effort, you can skip the heroic dungeon stage, and go straight from levelling to LFR. Do world bosses for a while, get the gear from that, make a bit of crafted epic. If you're a healer, there's no way I'd go thru heroic 5 man LFG. Its a totally thankless thing to do.
Expansions are probably a bigger killer than patches. A patch, well, you can start playing the new raid content with existing gear. That's not possible with expansions. Major changes in class gameplay doesn't please people either.
It was fun to play a few times, but the technique used to increase the difficulty levels didn't appeal much to me (add an extra 'feature' to the monsters per level) The 'one life' difficulty level idea struck me as interesting though. Occurs to me I probably left some dollar credits in that game, should try and sell em.
I agree with the xkcd principle in theory, if you've got a reasonably nice keyboard. Consider some of the more brain-dead keyboards that you run via a TV remote control by moving a cursor over a screen keyboard. I was doing it yesterday to run a web-browser and it was giving me the shits.
And pull down your blind to stop the light streaming in. There's a 24h business opposite my apartment that has floodlights that make it so I don't need a light to read by in my bedroom. It upsets visitors a bit, but I've managed to acclimatise to it and sleep with them on. (and save sh*it-tonnes of lighting electricity)
Further, have lights that are visible to vehicles at right-angles (or so) to you. LED's pointing for and aft are useless if a bike is travelling across. Use those wheel reflectors. Or wheel lights.
But you turn your computer over when it depreciates to zero ( 3 years)
I'm thinking the back seat of a volkswagon would not be where he practices his fucking. Anyone tried?

Is that 279.4 gibacocks buffed or unbuffed?
Saw a guild name the other night called '6 inches unbuffed', and it made me chuckle

If you read the KS http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/391496725/the-slingatron-building-a-railroad-to-space?ref=search then they say this very thing.

Seriously, can this thing work?

Print something that requires firing (no, not that firing, the ceramic high temperature kiln type.) and it might work
Russia could respond: "Let us know when you're ready to rejoin the civilised world, guys, and we'll consider it"

You micro-nap thru LFR's as well? It's kind of alarming to me when I've done that and topped the healing charts.

Driving down stock prices is not worse if you're looking to do a buyout.

With any luck, someone will do it to the government first.
Because that is the minimum, and people are lazy.

Maybe they'll start making pron with a plot? An art film, as it were, to accompany the Monet shot.
I set phone on vibrate before going to bed for ... other reasons...
Another long-winded motherhood statement full of corporate buzzwords.
That we need a law for this is pretty amazing. Anyone who leaves the scene after hitting another car/bike/animal is scum.
Perhaps the offense originally carried adequate penalties, but the nanny-state decided to increase DUI penalties out of all proportion to the rest.
