They are going to be designed to plug in exterrnally (RTFA). So when you are near a regular outlet, just plug in the power cord. When you are travelling or otherwise away from an outlet you would have 2.5 times the power of using a standard dies in 30 minutes battery.
The article I read stated that the US govt. issued blackberries to key employees after 9/11. The idea was that since the cell phones were tied up then key people could communicate by email over the blackberry. Only it seems most of them were being used for online dating. Hmmm, sounds like maybe they are needed after all.
This is a good step on their behave, if it only blocks the child porn sites. But there is a lot of sites that say they do not allow child porn, that still have the occasional few get by. Will they be banned also or will they slip through because they say they don't allow it? I have seen sites with the errant post that just got by. And then again there are alot of sites that say no children, but in reality that is all there is on the site. I wish them luck, this sounds like a major headache to enforce.
Their PR department should squash anything untill it is an official announcement. Just BAD business model IMO.
I'm not much of a progrmmaer any more (although I am supposed to be learning TK). Haven't had much time to stay with it. Did most of my programming back in the early 80's (IBM's and C-64's). Java just hasn't ever gave me a warm fuzzy. But then again I still use win 98 because it does give me a warm fuzzy. Go figure.
Points well made. In truth I don't follow the stock market, read about it here on/. last week and just double checked to make sure I had my facts straight. Granted I have not used Solaris so I don't know and can't really say anything about it. But I am not a fan of Java. I try to avoid having to use it. They are however currently on the skids overall and unless this announcement fiasco is just a ploy to get media attention (why they would need it is beyond me) then they are in more trouble than it seems.
Like the fact that they were on a downward spiral that the settlement is helping them stave off. Like the fact that their products are coming under ever more increasing fire for be too costly and not of the same caliber as their open source competitors. Like the fact that their stocks have decreased in value and don't show promise for rebounding in the near future. Sorry I know this is flamebait, but just making my point.
Several years ago, my ISP at the time accused me of running a server on my home connection. They didn't understand how I could be using that much bandwidth just surfing the web. I guess they didn't ever look at porn themselves. I know this is very late to be replying to, but I've got to take some time off now and then.
Excuse me a second. But aren't the diagnostic codes already available if you shell out the money for the aftermarket code readers? And don't just about all of the better auto fixit shops have the code readers? Heck even JCWhitney catalog carries code readers for all but the newest models. So how exactly is congress making the car companies release these codes something that is "new" and something worth wasting my taxpayer money for?
Swordfish brought to life was my first thought. A poor graphic representation of programmers code is now a reality. What's next flip open communicators? Oh wait...

Why do you think there was such a frenzy over terrorists stealing Playstation2s and Xboxs? They were afraid of the computing power of of one these high end gaming systems being used to provide cheap powerful computing solutions against us.
With poor battery technology not even close to keeping up, you will need either an extension cord always plugged in or get about 30 minutes of battery life.
This is the same story out of a different mouth. All the large companies (except maybe big blue) keep trying to push this very same idea down our throats. Yeah yeah yeah, We will give you the hardware but the software, licenses and updates are going to cost you the equivalent of two years salary. Lull us with the free offer upfront, then stab us in the wallet later.
Careful measurements of the glaciers and polar ice caps is one of the most important types of research done at the polar research labs. The figures are used for calculations of global warming, polution, and tidal currents among other things. This new method means less people having to endure the extreme cold and horrible weather in order to achieve the much valued information. Currently sensors are placed on top of the ice to measure movement and laser measurement is done to determine shrinkage.
ICQ beta versions were usually better than the final version. Sure you ran across a bug now and then but overall it was more user friendly (IMO). I really hated when I had to change to the newest release versions (after a crash or other suitably horrific incident). The beta versions just felt more comfortable to me.

NTP is a company that makes nothing. It only exists to hold patents.

Is it any wonder why they are losing business, money, and on the stock market?

A story how to on a company that has shut its web site down. Nifty idea though, being able to hide from the RIAA nazis.
I agree spend time with the SO at home and play at work!

The military is looking into using BDUs that adapt to the invironment to better conceal the soldiers. Sort of James Bondish.
Not as stupid as the people that actually click on it.
they already have one... you just whistle and it starts chirping.

Sure, they should have read it already (not that they actually have, just should have). Let them "teach" you what it is about.
Reading is a lost art. Why bother reading when someone else will read it and tell you what your opinion should be?
Don't forget the $100 it will cost you to upgrade to version1.2
but it doesn't do windows...
