  1. Re:Thoughts about Instancing on World of Warcraft - Then and Now · · Score: 2, Informative
    Instances are a good thing.

They are only used in the highest or most unique dungeons in-game.

The reason instances are great and why the newer MMO's are adding them is because it makes the game fun.

One thing that was annoying when playing an MMO before they came about with instances was taking a nice group and heading to a dungoen for some quests or just to farm and finding everyone else already there.

Instead of running through the dungeon and exploring and enjoying the story/quest and having fun. You would have to sit and wait for the group(s) that came in before you to kill the one mob you needed to that you can complete the quest.

No one likes to pay to wait. They want to pay to play. When I played DAoC it was really bad. But with their latest expansion they now have instances as well for some dungeons.

But for most people they just want to play the game and instances help them do that.

If you are meaning fist AAA title to come out for the console, you might be right. I don't follow console releases very closely. But I think that Fable probably fits into that area.

Please keep in mind that there are games that are released on the PC & Mac as well. Consoles are not the only gaming market out there.

I'm sorry but the games that I play that are on the pc are only on the pc or play much better on the pc.

Playing an FPS on any console is not fun or even comparable to playing it with a mouse/keyboard combo.

As well as playing an RTS on the console. The menu hunting is just not very intuitive on a console with you only having a few analog sticks and 4-6 buttons.

And with a pc I only have to upgrade a few pieces of hardware (if I choose to) to stay current. Console makers rarely make their console backwards compatible.

Consoles do have games that work best on them, whereas pcs have games that work best on them. That's why I own the 3 newer consoles as well as my windows gaming pc, my gameboy and also my linux boxen for servers and other stuff.

There's room in my home for everything. Only reason I own no Macs is that I can't afford the price of their systems.

This gene is not something that is being reported as being only found in China and only by the Chinese.

    Also the article states elsewhere:

The finding is the joint effort of a research programme, "Association of Human Genetic Polymorphisms with HIV Affections," jointly conducted by the University of Washington in the US State of Washington and local Infectious Disease Hospitals and medical institutions in Guangdong Province.

So you can see from that, we (as in the US) have their own group of researchers involved with the project.

The American election is what prompted this section. And, from the looks of the second quoted line, this section will only be here till the end of the American election.

So since the topic section is centered around the American election, it's only fitting that the graphic for this section be an American Flag .
