if we were talking about about DAOC then i would agree. but i've been playing war since closed beta and the game has environments that do feel expansive, and still have plenty of fluff and stuff to do.
i remember playing DAOC and so many of the levels being filled with boring grinding. the game itself is still a grind, all mmo's are, but the quests make that grind not seem like one.
there are quests everywhere, unlike DAOC where you only had quests every few levels and impossible to do solo epics. the quests are very much like they were in WoW: they get you into a new area, introduce you to gameplay mechanics and the location, and also usher you to the next zone.
i really hope that mythic holds off on using the nerf bat this time around. because when they used it at the beginning of DAOC it took many years to recover the crippling they did to many of the classes.
Maybe hang out near the local EB Games for a day or two...
That would be a good idea, just make sure to ask the store if it's OK to perform the survey near their store. That way you aren't upsetting them etc...
Another idea along those lines, is to see if you can partner up with the local EBgames and such to do some tourneys and get the store to offer some prizes. As well as work out a volume deal for games. But if everyone is going to the cafe to game nstead of buying new games they could get annoyed.
I actually just called the apple order status line to check on what would happen to existing orders since I have one that will be shipping soon.
They have a recorded message, if you chose Macbook orders, that says that all orders placed through Feb 13 have been upgraded to the new CPU's; 1.6 is now a 1.8 and the 1.8 is now a 2.0.
So good news all around.

Internet access used to be metered as well and eventually moved towards a flat fee for access.
I guess it's basically what you feel the product is worth and whether you don't mind paying for time you aren't playing.
With the current model a 40 hour play time (using your numbers & approximates) would be about $.34 whereas if the customer paid for the metered time they would pay about double the non-metered customer.
With your television you pay a flat fee. Do you ask for money back for the TV/cable/satellite that you don't watch?
Different regions of California have very different climates, depending on their latitude, elevation, and proximity to the coast. Most of the state has a Mediterranean climate, with rainy winters and dry summers.
So, aside from actually going to the Med, California is one of the closest places you can test something like this within the US.
I don't. Both OS's have their strong points and are suited to different users.
I like them both, along with *nix. And uselss bickering an dfinger pointing wont change my mind. I'll continue to use whichever product will do what I need it to do at that time.

that's a lot of text to just say "Whah! My story got rejected because someone else submitted the same thing before me."
Why not take responsiblity of you own comment as well and not post as an AC?

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but if the patent has expired anyone is free to put it to use?
Then what is to stop patent inventors from being killed off so that Big Evil Corperation A so that they can use the patent without paying a fee?
Digg is great for seeing cool links while /. is great for reading the commentary on the linked information.
I could care less if either site copies each other.
Thanks, that does make sense. I just always thought of it as just iTunes.
Why does the abbreviation of iTunes have the letter M in it?
Shouldn't it, logically, be ITNS? Or is ITNS used by some one else that I'm not aware of?
Please explain this one to me.

Last I knew IE was crossplatform.

In reality, who cares?

Just like with Gmail, people will be able to grab the cool name they really want before other folks grab it.
Did the original article not use paragraphs either?
I found it annoying to click through each image, but also the bright, ugly background was rather bothersome to look at.
I even liked it when they called it Phoenix and Firebird.
At least your chosen name suits you.
Everything can be addictive.
Yeah, I think that's why they mentioned it in the article.
Same with the King Arthur legend that Mythic uses as the basis for DAoC.
They are free to do whatever they want with the idea. And butcher it all to heck.
Romans in space just didn't seem very appealing at all.
But that same cell tower is secured to prevent me from unauthorized access.
Ther merge hasn't been approved by the FCC yet and there are signs that it may not happen at all if some Sprint partners have their way.
