    On news today that the surface of saturn is literally covered in a sea of liquid ethane, a combined oil conglomerate of Exxon and Mobil Oil Corp. have announced that they are exploring "pipeline options" to tap into the limitless reserves.

    "Screw the tree hugging liberals" said one un-identified spokesman. "If we can gain access to such a limitless source of fuel for automobiles, we won't have to waste a dime on alternatives. 60 year supply? How about 6000 year supply."

    In other news, the price per barrel of oil has dropped $26.00 per barrel on chinese market trading. John Vaderslooth of Bears Sterns this morning said "I wouldn't be surpised to see us drop ack down into the $50-60.00 per barrel range by close today." It should be an exciting market day today.

    Someone who is absolutely positive of what they are going to do, how they are going to do it and how long it is going to take to perform will probably be undetectable.
    Someone coming in and tring to hack the system on the fly "should" be identifyable by the length of time required to vote.
    Have a stop watch for each voter. Start the watch when each voter enters their booth. Stop it when the exit. Log the results. Deviations >10% are either:
    A) suspect
    or
    B) Texans from Harris county

    Put a micro camera inside the case and close it up so it gets no air circulation.
    Here we have the new ABC corp multi-Quad core CPU, over clocked to 50X standard. We are going to remove the heat sink and see how long it will last here in the absolute zero room with the case wide open and all the fans turned off.
    Yes, this is a flame bait to the vendor in question but just how worthy is it to say an "ultra low voltage" cpu/motherboard can survive in a open office cooled to ~68 degrees F. with an open case playing a 1/8th screen resolution video on an external display?
    To me? Worthless.
    Want a nuce comparison?
    How long can your cell phone with 3G networking survive in your hand while watching streaming video live from the internet? At least it is performing streaming video via cellular networking with its own dedicated power, storage and display. And my cellphone does it daily.

    Forgive me for the obvious, but why would you compare SMS to normal data bandwidth? I would attach the file from the SD memory card on my smart phone to a standard email message and use a small portion of my flat rate unlimited bandwidth rather than sending an image or a chunk of data.

    What is the cost of sending 1GB of data from the Hubble vs. sending 1GB of data via a flat rate, unlimited transfer hand held data connection? That would be a far more intelligent comparison.

    BTW, for the same flat rate I also get unlimited text messages, too, so it is still a moot point. My flat rate per month is less than the numbers estimated for the single example given.

    This just screams "flame bait" to me.

    You have to expend a bit of effort to keep a laser pointing into the cockpit of a helicopter flying at normal speed at 500' long enough to disorient and distract the pilot. I hope they throw the book at these idiots. I also hope they start catching the equivalent idiots doing it to commercial aircraft.

    I believe posting detailed plans of the layout and operational processes of a government facility is usually considered treasonous espionage and the act of a spy. When the person is caught, I hope they are tried in a military court (it IS a military facility), found guilty and summarily executed by military firing squad. I hope they broadcast it on uTube.

    People who try to kill hundreds, thousands or millions of people through acts of terrorism "should" be shot in the forehead immediatly if not sooner. For the privledge of being allowed to live a while longer so that we may extract whatever additional information we believe may be valuable, they give up the rights they lost when we should have wasted a slug on them. Their due process is the right to continue to breathe as long as we deem it is necessary.

    Ive done the clock and Ive done salary. WHen you are making as much as I do per hour, trust me, when I hit 40 hours they want me to go home and they don't call me nights and weekends unless it is a REAL effin emergency. Ill take the clock every day of the week. And I come in when I want, leave when I want and work 40 hours per week. Every week.

    The plan for dealing with abusing companies 101. You need to go to your boss and let him know that you will work 45 hours per week. Including after hours calls. Once you have hit 45 hours you will notify him. You will even let him know when you have hit 40, then again at 45. At 45 hours, you will turn off your cell and your pager. He should make sure that there is additional staff and a secondary for all shifts to take over. Especially for those life and death situations where he should always have a secondary in place to begin with. Preceeding this discussion I would make sure your resume is posted on monster, Dice, HotJobs, 6figurejobs and any other site you prefer. Make sure you have voice mail. I am currently getting 3-5 calls a day looking for experienced network/sys admin types paying $150K+. When he attempts to fire you, please make sure you have an experienced employment attorney who demands a jury trial. Sue the company for every dollar it earned in profit in that year for wrongful termination. Make sure at least 51% of the jury is blue collar workers. Settle for enough to retire comfortably. Enjoy the rest of your life without OT.

    Of interest is the fact that 65,535 is the largest number that can represented by an unsigned, 16 bit integer (i.e. 0xFFFF).

    After a little experimentation in VBA, I have found that 100000 is only returned when accessing the cells "Text" property. When asking for the cells "Value" 65,535 is returned as expected.
    I created a quick macro to test this after filling cell A1 with the formula "=850*77.1"

    MsgBox (Range("A1").Text) => Alerts 100000
    MsgBox (Range("A1").Value) => Alerts 65535
