New computers have "Smart Chips" to work with the newest version of Windows. The "Smart Chip" will prevent unauthorized operating systems from running on these machines. Windows has the smart key to bypass this protection, but it will automatically expire after a period of time.
By then, MS will have a new version of Windows for purchase.
This may be just another lawsuit, but you're ignoring the fact that probably most of us have put up with this crap from the printer companies, and I sure would like to see them suffer.
This evil device has 4 ink cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, yellow) and it will refuse to print if one of the cartridges is deemed empty. Now I never really print any color printouts, and yet, I keep running out of colored ink. I cannot seem to be able to print black and white without replacing the color.
It goes through some sort of cleaning process every so often, and I think it just wastes the ink or something. Anyways, it claims these cartridges are empty even when they aren't! They haven't even been used to print anything!
HP aren't the only thieves in the business. Something must be done, and I am glad to see this suit.
that's a good idea. But, I guesstimate that the total bandwidth used will be considerably larger than a server-client topology, since everyone will be peering everyone else all the time. That might be ok, as no single point will have to bear the burden.
All Apple achieves is forcing developers to figure out ways to emulate the functionality of two buttons with one.
One common way is to use a function key + mouse click. Another way is to click and hold for a second.
Neither way improves upon the simplicity of two buttons, and it just feels like a kludge.
Things can get ugly when they try to emulate three buttons with one.
Face it; most people are idiots. They are easily swayed by ad populum arguments. If I'm ever on trial, I don't want a jury of idiots. I think every jury member should have to pass a test on logical fallacies.
These chimeras and siamese twins introduce some ambiguity to the word "individual".
I guess the best defining characteristic of individual is if you you consider yourself an individual.
It's really interesting that our minds are really built out of the network and interconnects between cells. The cells themselves have no consciousness, and two different kinds of cells can network into one mind--one human.
Those who claim that a zygote is a human is a soul will have a hard time explaining what happens when the zygotes fuse (chimera) or separate (identical twins).
The purpose of AI in an RPG is not to 0wn the player. It is to provide a realistic entity to interact with and perhaps be beaten. Granted the uber veteran NPC should be able to 0wn the player.
Nah you wouldn't need your decrepit body anymore. You'd live in cyberspace and do mental work.
If you go senile though, that's a pretty sucky version of immortality.
Isn't that what | and $ are for?
It's ok that the Earth radically re-organized itself in the distant past before humans came along.
It's not ok from a human standpoint for the Earth to radically re-organize itself now.
Really, we should do everything in our power to keep the Earth rather like it has been for the last 10000 years.
Just because something is not proven doesn't mean that you should ignore it.
If the severity of the conclusions is high, and the probability of correctness is substantial, then it deserves respect.
That's what most the guys are saying. It's only because you are a woman that your statement isn't dismissed.

If you know enough to be able to extract a rar file, you probably know how to scan the file after it's uncompressed.

If Kerry/Edwards concedes, it doesn't mean that Bush/Cheney/Satan automatically wins. No contender could get the majority.
Or it could lead to nothing at all happening to your penis
Flamebait, and Offtopic don't fit. And Overrated is such a catch-all.
I think spam would have gone up irregardless of CAN-SPAM
See, the logged in person gets all the glory (modpoints) and the anonymous coward gets naught.

This is why you need configurable difficulty settings or some sort of adaptive diffuculty servo.

I probably don't want to live forever, but I want to be young for as long as I do live.
that will run on sunlight and water
my gut feel is that biological battery can be more reliable than the ol chemical battery given some research.
Anyone have the URL for the site that zaps your hard drive? This will help me clean my relatives' comps of spyware with a phone call.
