Hiring more people could result in too many people during non-crunch time. I assume that the project has dependencies that require that most of the work needs to be done at the end. You couldn't just put more people on to accelerate non-crunch-time tasks because putting more than 1 person on a software task gives you diminishing returns.
Perhaps they need to rethink their scheduling to not set unrealistic goals or unlink some dependencies so some of the work can be done earlier.
I thought that was actually a good thing. It saves screen real estate. I never even touch the menubar anyways, so it might as well be gone. The old netscape had tabs on the left on the toolbars that let you shrink them. What happened to that feature?
Water also increases the Earth's albedo, so maybe it will balance out temperature-wise. Probably not though. Don't downplay the effects of pollution by water though, contrails from jet planes damage the environment.
Political assassination, however, is a third case. I think you're right that we shouldn't see games reenacting the gas chambers or Columbine or whatever, but I'm not so sure about an event that involves heads of state
Agreed, the President is not a civilian.
They buy services. They buy people. They trade intangible things. They buy companies.
I don't think they spend that much on material things.
A flat sales tax would necessarily tax these immaterial things or it would be horribly regressive.
I wrote a mandelbrot prog on my TI-85. I never could run it with more than a few iterations though. It's interesting how nowadays we can calculate a plot of the mandelbrot in the blink of an eye in more detail than what took days to process 20 years ago.
Nah, what heat we take away from the sunlight hitting the ground will be restored by the heaters in our homes, the lights, heat sinks, etc. Temperature shouldn't change much.

Frankly, there is a world of difference between a company whose zombies spam people on innocent ISPs, and a company who sends spam through it's own mailserver. The first inflicts involuntary damage to ISP and client, while the second is undeniably opt-in and doesn't intrude on any other ISP.
I'm not suggesting that Google will spam you; I'm just saying it wouldn't be evil to do so.
I'm not an economist, nor have I really studied economy, but sometimes a group needs some injection of fresh thoughts to at least think about.
Minimum wage helps to stabilize the economy. With no minimum wage, the value of money could bounce up and down as the market changes. (On the other hand, the number of people fired probably bounce up and down more.) Also, minimum wage helps to equalize the value of money over geographic regions (provided that the minimum wage in distant states are approximately equal).
Man, you paint people who don't want to bother with setup in such a bad light. Is there something wrong with wanting a simple self-contained binary which requires no installation other than copying the file and can be de-installed by deleting it?

That's absurdly expensive.
I imagined two geeks strapped in front of computers in a big cage with lethal syringes at their necks, playing half-life 2
GPA isn't important as long as you pass.

7 broken apps is 7 too many
Really, though, that wouldn't be practical unless the employer REALLY wanted to know what you were typing.
break pads can probably generate more torque than electric motor, without the electricity

Only problem is the non-homogeneity of the index of refraction of air. I don't think you'll be able to get attometers from that.

This article was overhyped. These CRTs are only marginally slimmer than regular, and have nothing on flat panels.

I'm not sure how good it is, or how it compares to anything else, but you could check it out
Already there are many apps which do not show the standard window box. How is this different?
