Or, since it's canon that the Maw near Kessel consists of black holes, the faster/riskier the ship and pilot are, the closer they go to the black holes. Since said black holes bend space-time, perhaps that shortens the distance?
Er... you mean that it'd be good for teaching Google old-fashioned English. Old English is not merely archaic English - it's much closer to the original Germanic ancestry, to the point that it's as similar to German as English.
First, it's not a remapping - ^[ works on a vanilla install of vi (well, I've only tried it on vim on RH, Debian, OS X, and Knoppix - good enough?). Second, for some of us, grave is still a bit of a stretch - I have small hands, so I have to stretch to reach it, but my right pinky sits at the top of the ; key, putting [ just a twitch away.
It's only the vi noobs that use esc - anyone who's used vi for long has at least heard of using ^[ instead. And if, as you said, you've remapped capslock and control, it's not a reach at all.
You, sir, are the biggest benefit to a site like slashdot. Much like circletimessquare and some of the other sophisticated trolls on K5. Speaking of which, do you have an alterego there, or is that a false memory?
At 200+ comments, I'm sure someone's said it, but the AlphaSmart is quite nice. Not too expensive, and the transfer is easy - plug it in via USB, put your cursor in a word processing program, and it simulates a keyboard to transfer everything. Not sure, but I believe the higher-end ones can use a floppy, too.
I've used em' a lot; they're not Model Ms, or whatever the "keyboard of the day" is right now, but they're not uncomfortable or chiclet-like. Worst thing is that the key action is a bit heavy, but a bit of use should solve that.
I can see looking it up if you didn't know what the others were... but if you knew, why didn't context warn you? For anyone else who's curious, wikipedia has a list of shock sites that is picture free (be warned, though, there are links on the pages, so don't double-click!): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shock_sites
Which would be better: limit it to images in My_Documents, or *all* jpgs? I can see it now... not only is your desktop GoatseGuy, but so is the start button, the task bar, your icons... I feel unclean now, I need to go take a shower.
He doesn't want the system to store data centrally; it should be P2P like BitKeeper. But it has to be Free, because otherwise it's like that Java trap thingy RMS is always talking about. They run Slackware, so they need to be able to compile it themselves (no dpkg's or rpm's, thank you very much!). And they're using it to organize info@we-steal-music.net, so there's gotta be a way to filter email from IP addresses belonging to the RIAA.
Is that enough of a challenge for you?

How about if she's got an MPS/ML disorder (I know you don't know what that is - probably less than 10,000 patients in the developed world) or any other rare disorder for which there is no cure, and non-embryonic stem cells just aren't sufficiently pluripotent to do the job?
Oh, jeez I'm an idiot. It took this post to figure it out... I was wondering if it was organized in a tree somehow, and I haven't done any coding at all this week!

I've done some studying for the LPIC (although I'm not going to take it - too expensive), and what I've found is that it's filled holes in my knowledge. A lot of the review tasks in IBM's material are things I know how to do, but the ways they suggest you do it may (or may not) be simpler, and may involve the use of commands you haven't been exposed to.
Is there a specific translation you'd recommend? Right now I'm reading "No god but God: the origins, present, and future of Islam" by Reza Aslan, and it's inspired me to actually read the Qu'ran and some commentary (although I have no interest in learning Arabic in order to do so).
Different colors for different groups - the LAF doesn't have a monopoly on fundraising. I've seen 'em for several rare disorder communities I belong to, for dead police officers, and a whole host of other worthy causes. Maybe it is a fashion statement - but it's a fashion statement that helps fund valuable activities, which is something most American flags don't.
I may be missing the joke here, but isn't this how it already works for all but niche publications (i.e., the Wired reporter didn't get caught b/c not many competitors exist, vs. Dan Rather getting caught because...).
A lot of sheet music (choral, orchestral, and band) would not be written or arranged, then, especially at the lower levels (but even extending up to high school, in some cases).

Word completion is another such feature, especially for people who are constantly bordering on RSI.
"Hey, it's not my fault it's bulging ... someone's playing the silly buggers".
"These are not the boobs you are looking for".
"Wanna see my lightsaber?"
Hey, it's not the size of the pipe it's the ... eh, screw it.

Why not some sort of hash? Say, md5 "victims_ip_address" + "salt"? If the salt is known only to the virus writer, there's not much you can do.
