    Are you familiar with etymotics plugs? They probably wouldn't be good for using a cell phone, but (in theory) you can often talk to people even when you have them in and there's loud music in the background.

    Yeah, except that they're not allowed to do it. Meaning, (IIRC) under contract law in the US, the rest of the contract is still valid, but the noncompete isn't. Dumbass.

    I don't know anything about Aussie law, but in Illinois (and most US states), we have what's called "Employment at Will". Among other things, it means that companies aren't allowed to keep you from working anywhere you want when you leave (well, they are in some cases, but they're extremely limited in what they can do). It also means that you don't ever *have* to work for them - you can leave any time you want (i.e., two week's notice is just a courtesy).

    Their Graphical Analysis comes in a Mac flavor, and (IIRC), you can even use LabPro with Linux (assuming you have a USB->serial converter dongle handy).

    The difference in distance, height-wise, between the toilet and the ground (where the 3rd rail is) might be big enough that the droplets wouldn't have that "certain distance" in which to form. IDK, just speculation.

    You're exactly right. And the biggest problem is that people (gay and straight) don't feel a need to speak up. Racial/religious bigotry will quite often get a response from people who aren't being picked on; other minorities, including (but definitely not limited to) LGBTs, don't always get the same kind of support
