Are you familiar with etymotics plugs? They probably wouldn't be good for using a cell phone, but (in theory) you can often talk to people even when you have them in and there's loud music in the background.
Yeah, except that they're not allowed to do it. Meaning, (IIRC) under contract law in the US, the rest of the contract is still valid, but the noncompete isn't. Dumbass.
I don't know anything about Aussie law, but in Illinois (and most US states), we have what's called "Employment at Will". Among other things, it means that companies aren't allowed to keep you from working anywhere you want when you leave (well, they are in some cases, but they're extremely limited in what they can do). It also means that you don't ever *have* to work for them - you can leave any time you want (i.e., two week's notice is just a courtesy).
Our primary tool is fear... fear and surprise... fear and surprise and soy sauce... fear and surprise and soy sauce and teriaki - I'll just start over, then, shall I?
Their Graphical Analysis comes in a Mac flavor, and (IIRC), you can even use LabPro with Linux (assuming you have a USB->serial converter dongle handy).
He might not want to, but the fact that they weren't written by him might be their saving grace. I'd love to see a (well-done) Thrawn Trilogy and/or Camaas Duology. It's the parenthetical part that'll get you, though.
Hmm... a water-cooled plexiglass case shaped like a toilet./me sits back and waits for some idiot with more money and time than sense to make some pretty pictures for/.
The difference in distance, height-wise, between the toilet and the ground (where the 3rd rail is) might be big enough that the droplets wouldn't have that "certain distance" in which to form. IDK, just speculation.
That quote from Henry the... Fifth, I think, is often taken out of context. In context, it's used to demonstrate the stupidity and absurdity of the character who says it. It's not actually an anti-lawyer statement.
I believe there was a/. article a few months back about a server you could telnet into for free to get rainbow hashes of alpha-only passwords. Assuming we're talking about the same rainbow, that is.
You're exactly right. And the biggest problem is that people (gay and straight) don't feel a need to speak up. Racial/religious bigotry will quite often get a response from people who aren't being picked on; other minorities, including (but definitely not limited to) LGBTs, don't always get the same kind of support
Yeah - it could even put a little red "update" button on the taskbar whenever ... oh. Right.
Crash? What is this crash you speak of?
I swear, it's not mine - that sort of thing just isn't my bag, baby!

A proud atheist, actually.
Close, but no cigar. You're looking for the word pentateuch.
We're trying, damn it. But there's only so much we can do. Here's an idea - we'll move to Canada, then you can deal with the US as you please.
I live in a pretty well-off suburb of Chicago, and on some of the more expensive bits of property in town, you can see tons of telephone wires.
It's Ultra Mega, not Ultra Omega, and that refers to the clearance needed to know about Purple/Enigma. You're thinking of unit 2701/2702.
I use NeoOffice for all my word processing. Don't even have Word installed, so I'd also like to thank you for this plugin.
What does your sig mean? I was trying to translate it, but my German is pretty weak.

You're online, dumbass. Of course you have a dictionary!

That's what the Mojave is for!

You can't go to the bathroom in the dark? Man, I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

And grease (for insulation). Or fat/lard. Or something - I think the Channel swimmers use whatever it is.
