The only thing Oracle did was plaster their name on the product, once they change support, then worry. Wait until Libre Office is out of beta then switch and your nightmares are over.
If you didn't like to talk to a teller before, now's the time. The receipt you receive is sometimes more then what's given back from the ATM. You can stuff it into your file cabinet until the money is spent. Your money is secure up to $250k, so if you have more, then start creating different accounts or start investing the money into something else.
I can go on and on or better yet someone else will add to my comments.
Sure, people play the game. But Piracy only basis this on the Story of the game if there is one.
Most publishers release a patch, one that cannot be downloaded easily, only to users who register their purchased game allowing for multiplayer versions or server logins to be possible.
Console systems may seem to be the best line against piracy, but that's not true, because your LIVE account doesn't keep track of CD keys. If you modded your system to play a copied game, then your home free, and the servers know none the wiser.
Call of Duty, no 2 keys can be online at the same time when playing multiplayer, so the only way to obtain one is to purchase the game or play when the other user is not online at the same time.
But here's where piracy works. One PC copy that is used for a multplayer is not hindered for LAN games, because there is no check other then the game initiation. But this entails coordination from friends and playing time.
So, what does piracy boil down to? Playing a game that you only want to try for a period of time that extends Demo or trial time? Or does it mean that a bunch of friends want to play at the same time but all cannot or don't want to pay for the game?
This was the best powerplant in Sim City 2000. You launched a satellite to that would beam energy back down to your big dish plant. The best part is when it missed and fried the terrain around it.
If you like to work with the innards of computer and test things, than Linux is for you. If not, than get a PC, if you just use a PC than waste your money on a MAC.
Is the Economy. It's 100% player driver. The only thing that the developers add is a sink hole for the Initial blue prints for equipment. Everything else is player aquired / sold. If there were additional shards, than there would be no need to fight for systems. Which is why World of Warcraft is just a 3D social playground for developing characters rather than aquiring and fighting for your goals which you achieve in EVE online.
Face it, people don't like EVE because it's too intense and feel that there is a lackluster in the PVP fighting. If they take their time, the fighting is more drawn out than any other MMO and that character development is your choice not a 70 hour hack-n-slash to gain levels.
Skills allow you to use items, and money allows you to buy them. Everything else is community based.
OH and it's one of the only games where you CAN be a trader and NEVER have to fight to gain levels.
They ahve the processing power to run their 1000 ship attacks in single systems. Far more than World of Warcraft where only 50 run attacks. So a single shard needs the massive bandwidth and a location where they are on the actual Internet backbone.
it won't happen to them. And others frankly just don't know. that's why none of this happens. Also, anti-virus programs expire. people also don't know about the free ones.
So put it this way.
It's survival of the Fittest... even for computer owners.
And I always thought it was about what would fit on the screen. Also, since it's only 160 bytes, the phone companies are making Tons of $$$ off these messages when trillions of bytes don't even slow the system down. (unlike the Simpson's episode this past Sunday).
After the release, They made you update to play online... without an Impulse account and a registered copy, you cannot get the updates or any balancing they've made.
So, in other words. A pirated copy is a POS copy. It'll get boring really fast if you cannot patch / upgrade it.
You CANNOT get the expansion pack to Sins of a Solar Empire Unless you have a registered copy of the game.
Sorry Pirates, but StarDock has the best option VS piracy... registering your GAMES!!!!
I ran Linux on my computer on campus over 12 years ago. this is nothing new, people thought it was cool back than, but it's nothing now. Just something different, a way of saving money rather than purchasing your software, or only limited to the student versions that the College/University offers. Frankly I hope the student wins and this is spread nationwide as another start of people using Linux and lowering the cost of software that Developers charge big bucks for.
no more waiting for them to make a discovery where a robot can work 24/7 and not waste money on scientists shoudn't be playing w/ sheep instead of working.
They run faster and you shouldn't run services on a desktop machine anyways if you worry about slowness. Put linux on an old computer, setup the LAMP, and there you go. Samba will allow you to access the files directly and you can even use the old computer as a dedicated server. No need to purchase Windows 2k3 or 2k8.
no matter what the content is, if you don't have a powerful enough GPU, than you can't play the game at the speeds other people play it at.
Yes, a X1900, or NVIDIA 2700 is the mid level for now. Once the next gen graphics and content come out, you need to go higher. Taking no one or 2, but 3 steps higher for a card to last 3 to 5 years.

Nothing new. On the ScreenSavers G4TechTV they built one that lasts. With cardboard Power and Reset buttons.

who ever comes out on top wins and will have the new standard. it'll boild down to a popularity contest. The fastest and easiest will show more color.
The new oshiba for $400 beats both of those in preformance and quality.
in other words, Freudian Slip.
Apple rejects anything they think will turn them away from the phone's operation or make changes to it.
PUT IT ON ANDROID and WM. You Won't be rejected there.
No Flash
No competitive Browsers
No File Exploring
No downloading to the phone
and people say I should get an iPhone, there's a couple of reasons NOT to.
bullshit.
android followed closely by symbian OS is the most open there is.
carriers regularly block GPS capability on windows mobile phones.
that's carrier specific, like Verizon. You can use everything in AT&T so I don't have a problem either with creating apps.
I have SSH enabled on my server, nothing has gotten by according to my log files.
people on a LAN would still sign in to AOL and open the web from there.
AOL gave millions of people the wrong impression.
So I would agree with "The Hard Drive" being the entire box comment being really annoying.

Cyber Security for the NSA will turn into Cyber Spying on everyone in the US.
the emulator's great, but I would like the DEV phone and utilize my AT&T connection. Thanks for the post.
This is sad.

Looks exactly like Starcraft 2. I'm not supprised if it's the same engine that Microsoft somehow got their hands on.
