    but that is rather outdated - it does not cover extension buttons to control the system from the wheel (as far as i know), too small for many modern systems etc...

    that's a good point. how about a standard mounting brackets & size ? so in some area (ok, let's make it 3 options, depending on size :) ) one could mount any car infotainment system.
    i'm kinda in a similar boat... errr, car - 2005 volvo has some navigation system. with insanely outdated (well, completely missing for my region) maps.

    somebody has put together osm solution for a similar volvo, but that's a bit above my abilities :)

    oh, i wasn't saying people would never contribute anything if a company could monetise it - anything could be monetised.
    i just mentioned that data, contributed to osm, is free to use for all - and that's a huge difference compared to gmaps

    this is quite different. the result is free for anybody to use, bundle, improve upon. data somebody would be contributing to gmaps stays there - you can not obtain whole google maps data in vector format and do whatever you please with it.

    this is what openstreetmap offers :)

    i'm wondering about "The only effect of the revoke process is that the bad guys will not be able to sign any further malware with it." in the cited article. how would revocation prevent further signing ?
    using crl would (should ?) prevent signed software from working, but signing with a key already in somebody's possession wouldn't be impacted

    but somehow in most companies financial department is treated with extra care. somehow. maybe because they are exposed to quite a lot of sensitive, internal information.
    just because money (wages etc) is involved... ;)

    i'm catching trailing whitespace in all files i can and dealing with it. most of my editors highlight it, so that helps. then there's this bit of sed 's/[ \t]*$//' ;)

    ah, but in germany you have to provide passport or similar id just to get a simcard, thus they can trace you by the connection. just in germany, you say ? surely they will push for this to cover whole eu and then more...
    and germans still had the guts to lecture usa on the internet freedom, anonymity and privacy.

    on the other hand, i don't see how this prevents something like getting a usb stick with the book stolen. usb stick might even be re-found later.

    not even as a joke, but... maybe nasa is looking towards more long term missions, the ones where sending 7 guys and one female wouldn't be the brightest idea ?
    make it 50/50 and you have higher chances of them staying happy.

    it's a bit of a shame rh doesn't really offer a decent kde implementation. last one i saw was... terrible. maybe it has gotten better since rhel4-5 or so ?

    what's insane about opensuse ?
    it still seems to be the best kde distro around.

    granted, there are some annoying issues i've encountered in latest & patched 12.3 - rather frequent kwin segfaults and knetworkmanager showing "connection failed" for all connections right after attempting to connect... even if it eventually succeeds :)

    we usually bang in the nails with books. they do get broken quickly, so we are looking into more robust solution. we could take wooden planks, but that does not seem like a very good solution. maybe we can use rocks or something ?

    in germany, there are no free/open wifi networks.
    copyright groups have owned the government and there are laws that make owner of the wifi connection guilty of whatever happened through it. coupled with insane laws on copyright (and spending money on enforcing them), this has resulted in eradication of anonymity. actually, thinking about it, government might like that a lot...

    the questions i had (after "how did they break the encryption etc :) ) - what's "numerous" ?
    what's "constitute child pornography" ?

    did the guy have a few videos with titles that start "17 year old girl..." ? if not, and that was real child porn, that should suffice and they wouldn't need other disks, right ?

    (btw, i believe that a mere possession of any material should never be a matter of prosecution. use this guy to find out where he got that porn, if he actually did, and go after the producers)
