When I explain new staff about our security policies, I explain them not to give anybody their password. They say OK. Then I say "Not even to me." They start to look a bit worried. Then I say "Not even to the CEO" and then they get confused.
When I say "Not even to the IT guy who is repairing your PC" they are completely baffled and stare at me as if I am sore sort of drugs.
Mmm. Perhaps I must try it out and ask after a week or so if they don't give me the password they are fired. See if they give it or not.
I am sure the BBC is aware that they are not actually are predicting the future. I am sure they are aware that it all will be wrong. It is just a fun excersize and it is even more fun to later read what came true and what not.
It tells afterward more about the time the prediction was done then about the future.
Bit like the flying car, walking on the moon and what not predicted in 1950 for the year 2000.

For most Europeans Democrats are right wing and Republicans are ultra right. There is no left wing in America. Not even left-leaning.
Sounds if you thank one person for doing all the work. If that is what has actually happend (one person stopping the bill) then there is a LOT wrong with politics. More then we have already thought is wrong.

A friend of mine had a mom with MS. She had everything she needed, including a home, most bills payed for and what not.
Yes, she died, but there was no financial pain for family.
I had a co worked who had cancer. No need to cook meth to pay his bills. Just went to the hospital each week to get his treatment.
I might never need it and in the whole I might even pay more then I get, but I could not look these people in the eye and say: die a painful death so I can have a new cellphone.
Not only is is probably my companies policy, even more important, it is mine as well.
If it is not a tool that was given to me by the company, they do not want me to use it. That tool can be a PC at home, a phone to be reached for business purposes, a program that would help me or a website that I might not be able to reach because it is blocked.
If they do not give it to me, they do not want me to have it for whatever reason. I see no reason why I should go around their backs and try to do it anyway.
And no way they will be forcing me to use my own stuff. You want me to use it? You provide it. It is yours to do with as you see fit.
I just don't use any private stuff for work or work stuff for private tasks. Want to work from somewhere else then at the office? You give me the tools to do so. Be that a PC and internet connection or a phone.
So my employer has not even no right, he also has no reason to investigate anything owned by me. Makes it easy for them AND for me.
I'll definitely vote for whoever runs against him in the next election, though.
