From the article: "You can cross the entire city in 25 minutes"
And for t hose who think it is something recent: "On the same streets where 30 people died in traffic accidents from 1996 to 2006, only three died in the subsequent 10 years, and none since 2009."
And very important: "withholding planning permission for big shopping centres "
I cabn see this working in Spain. Not because of the unemployment rate, nor because of your misunderstanding of the siesta.
I see this working in Spain as people in Spain tend to be out of their house more than several other countries.
I have visited several Spanish cities where cars where not a thing in the center of the city. And in many European cities, traffic is either banned or discouraged.
I work in the center of Brussels and they have turned on of the main streets into a pedestrian zone.
In Leuven where I live, they have devided the city in 5 parts, so driving from one part to another you need to go out of the city and back into it. That encourages people to take a bicicle or walk.
I was part of a "Change of mindset" group. We even had a psychiatrist. He told us that there where so many "There are 4 groups of people" tests that they where basically meaningless.
That was several years ago. He also told that it was extremely easy to be in any group you desired (for e.g. an interview) and the tests where also dependend on the day of the week or the time of the day.
He even showed us how he coud ask a few questions and put each of us in a group that we would think would be us.
Long story short: There are 8 billion people. Only having 4 groups of behaviour is more about us wanting to label things than anything else. And having 4 groups makes it easy scalable and visible on a paper.
So having such a test tells you what is importand for THEM and then you play the game and get into a group you know they would want you to be in. Often the one in the right top.
That monmey was Irelands money to begin with. This would be like a joyrider giving the car back and you saying it should be given to the neigbour.
Now if you are talking to have fines, that is something completely different. Just because they did not get a fine and charges where dropped does not mean they got a blank slate.
If they try it again, they will be seriously fined, on top of the taxes they need to pay.
Going after the people who agreed with it in Ireland is not an EU matter, it is a matter for Ireland to see if the person or persons did something illegal and to presecute them.
But it is not worth changing the clocks everywhere just for this.
I do not want to change every time. I personally do not care if summer time or winter time is selected. No matter if it is winter or summer time. (That is what it is called in Europe) Having summer time all the time is just as good, FOR ME, as wintertime all the time.
We are not changing the vlock. We are not changing time. We are looking if we better like summer or winter time.
The fact that 12:00 is when thee sun used to be above your head is nice, bit just for historical reasons. There are not many places where this us the case. There are plenty of countries that would be devided by a timeline, so cheating is going on anywa
Besides that, I do not see a lot of people staring at a stick in the ground to see when midday is. Tried it once and I was 17 minutes late all the time.
I would think most people would like extra daylight in the summer, because they will be outside. In the winter you will be inside because of the weather.
I am just glad that it us over and will be happy as long as countries close to Belgium have the same time.
The bug is that you have an education where help is needed from outside. The feature is that programs like these can be used as a tax deduction and/or a way to influence.
Having companies have influence in schools is something that is bad, as far as I can see it. When I was young, representatives of TetraPack came to the schools to explain to the kids how their package was better than bottles. Yep, throweing was away better than keeping it.
I was too young to doubt adults, so I believed them. No doubt that many other kids did the same. The goal was that the kids would talk at home how they learned about this great new way of throwing away things was better than old fashioned glass. (Better for the enviroment as well, somehow)
So kids where used directly to influence.
I do not trust companies about the information they give me as an adult. They have been lyinh and cheating enough for me not to trust them. So I certainly not trust them in educating these small humans.
I identify as a . As at least 50% will identify themselves as a different gender and some will identify as the same gender but a different color (or even without color) by definition I am a minority.
The thing I am always need to remind myself is that in the US fastfood is in the same category as a 3 star restaurant, In Europe that is not the case.
You would have 3, not 2 options to eat: 1) Self made 2) Fast food 3) Restaurant
I seldom go to a fast food place, because it is not good quality for the price you pay. e.g. I rather have a pizza at an Italian mom and pop place than one at Domino's. I pay about the same (or even less) for something that tastes much better. The added bonus is that I can sit somewhere, have a glass of wine with it and not doing the dishes. And that is when I go alone.
When I go with friends, it is more about sitting together and have a bottle of wine and just sit and talk. The whole reason is to spend time together.
And if time is a factor for you, learn to wok. Look up some recepies online (I bought a second hand book) and make a meal in 5 minutes. OK, the first month it will take a bit longer as you will find your ways, but I can have a meal in the time it takes to boil water + 1 minute. And no, a WOK pan is not needed, just a deep pan. Making it is fast and cheap and as tasty as you want it.
And I still go out and eat it in a restaurant and not order it out.
About these old people. My parents lived in Spain and went out EACH day for the last 30 years about 95% of the time. If you pay 10EUR for a meal, including the wine and coffee, there is no reason not to. And you have social contacts while you are at it.
Nope, no diabetes. They where healthy as can be (Mom died of cancer, dad from a fall). Healthy as a 65 year old when they where 85. Obviously (almost) never fast food.
We where starting with ADSL and in the process, we made a website and a manual that had screenshots of everything. We tested the software on several machines and even went as far as testing it with people who never used a PC to see what went wrong. One person tried to put the floppy in the CD player. Once that was sorted, nobody had any issues.
It was the best cooperation I have ever seen, including sales, marketing IT, support 1st, second and 3rd grade. People learned how to reference the page as to where the customer would be in the process, so they could go on.
We basically did this, because with previous projects, the most frequent question was where the manual was.
So we had a team of people who worked very hard to make a great manual that would actually help people. If the customer would look on the website, in the manula or on the screen, he would see the same thing.
We even went as far as make the website interactive, so you could do the whole procedure first online, so you would see would be going on. It was great. It was wunderfull. It was expensive. It was wasted money. People would still ask where the manual was (In the envelope) and when you then wanted to refer to the manual, they did noit want the manual. They wanted to talk to a person.
People wanting a manual, does not mean they want to use it.
The whole process was basically putting in the floppy in their Windows machine, click on OK, enter their login and password and click on OK again.
So why DID the people call? Because they wanted to talk to a human. They probably never put a floppy into their machine and as many people, where suddenly blind. The only thing the people on the phone needed to do was: * What does the screen say? To enter your login? What is your login? OK, then enter your login, as requested on the screen. And the same for password and of clicking OK. Just basic following the information on the screen.
To date this: we tested this next to Windows on the first iMac, so '98 or '99. Most of the customers never had a computer before, let alone Internet. The lesson I learned then is as true today. Do not waste your time on manuals. If they want one, send them a phonebook or whatever. If they complain, give them their money back or something. All that will be cheaper than wasting it on manuals.I do understand that the people here are different. Many here read manuals as if they are novels.
I do not blame the customers for being humans. I will blamw people who do not factor in human behaviour in their process. (looking especially at password-change-procedures). So put the money that you would spend on manuals (where they are not legally required) on the human behaviour.
On the other side, these people where unhappy and went to computergames, instead of the pub or, as I have seen, overtime at work. In Europe, doing a lot of unpaid overtime that nobody asked for can be seen that there are issues elsewhere, like at home.
And even if the player here is a bit blamed, the issues, most likely, come from both sides.
I see one. I am not able to use two providers of my choice. They told me I could have two numbers, but I can only have that if at least one is a provider of their coice.
OK, here a list of Europe: Good things: Lots of paid holidays Cheap to free healthcare and education Best chocalate ever Worker rights Allowed to drink from 16 years old Female nipples are not forbidden More than 2 parties to vote for Best chocolate, period. Competing internet providers Chocalate that is the best.
Bad things: Not allowed to do the Hitler salute in Germany Higher taxes Guns need a lot of paperwork Allowed to sell bad chocolate as well.
I popped the battery, now my phone does not work anymore. Can I buy a new one with Bitcoins? If so, it is real enough for me.
As real as the transactions and banking I do online and all the other things I pay without actually holding any money. The fact that the paper money and the digital money are related is a nice bonus, but that digital money I use is just as fictisious as a Bitcoin.
The sole reason I still use money is because it is easier when I go and eat with friends and we share the bill. And yes, there are ways around that, but just splitting the bill is easier.

So nothing special from a European point of view.
I cabn see this working in Spain. Not because of the unemployment rate, nor because of your misunderstanding of the siesta.

To me there are 11 types of people. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
(If you reply, think again before you reply.)

You make it sound as if thid is a recent evolution. This has been going on since Roman times. At least.
He is hardly gone and now this. The PC-police must having their iltimate orgasm. What the fuck where they smoking?
Cunts. The lot of them. And not in the nice Australian way.
I had no code of conduct. I do not have one now. I use Lunux so I am de facto part of said community.
What is next: white males have a new code of conduct?
So fuck off with your code of conduct. I do not even vare how good it is and how much I might agree with it. I will never be ok with any opt-out.
I do not want to change every time. I personally do not care if summer time or winter time is selected. No matter if it is winter or summer time. (That is what it is called in Europe) Having summer time all the time is just as good, FOR ME, as wintertime all the time.
Probably he did not agree with the extortion, er, plea bargain.

Now do the same with wok foid. 5 minutes. And remember that you can do dufferent things while something is in the ioven.
The answer is yes.

I went from 1 to 4 MB to be able to run Win95 and had a DX386-40
You must have been rich.

Well, it works for DMCA in the US, so why not?

Brexit is the best thing ever. Finaly we get rid of the UK.

That would be true if the USD is the only currency in the world. It isn't.
