Why do I need to know if the person who lives next to me killed his girlfriend at the age of 16, did 10 years and has been a good person since 10 more? Why do I need to know the person next door slept with his girlfriend on his 19th birthday and he is just a week older?
If these people are a danger to society, they should perhaps not be released. Telling me will hurt the innocent more then it will the guilty. Because if my neighbor once plays his music a bit too loud, I could call his job and he looses it.
So yeah..."essential liberties" that we get upset about up here north of the boarder really aren't that essential. For a place that's so close to us, it's...very, very far away.

So the best thing a parent can do is prepare them for the moment that man arrives. If that means you need to spend several hours per day with your kid, though luck. It is called parenting. And don't put the PC in their room. Putting the PCs in the family room is not limiting access. Putting down firewalls and time limits is limiting.
Be there if they are. Might be that you or your wife needs to give up their job, but what do you want? Educate your kids or a new TV? Oh and don't be afraid that your kids hate you, because they will anyway (and won't). You do not need to be a friend. They have plenty of friends. What they need is a parent and Cisco is a lousy one.
And the fun thing is that kids can only think short term. They have not (yet) gotten the ability to think long term. Kids are like puppies. You need to confront them immediately, otherwise it won't work. That also means to give them a tread the moment they do something good. Getting the numbers at the end of the year? Not going to the next class? Those where things I could not comprehend until a later age.
In many cases, there's a lack of or much less parental involvement. Sounds old-fashioned, but a lot of what pushed me to do well came from my parents. If your parents are divorced, you only have one, or they're too busy working, you get less attention.
The sad thing is they do it for the children, so they can get the latest video game on the latest computer with the latest car in front of their new house. Work less and spend more time with your family, because that is what is REALLY important. Ask any person who has a near-death experience.
I assume you know that you are an exception? I have also been offered different jobs for more money and yet I still stayed where I was. However if I would get no money, I would not have stayed. I would do something else.
So for me and most other people, money is not the only motivator, but a very important one.

And at the same time teach and educate about everything around sex. Explain why no means no. What to do if you are a rape victim (give out phone numbers where kids can phone in anonymously). The fact that men are visually and women are emotionally affected.
Sex-ed is good for those who have no idea. Look at some of the questions in teenager magazines (at least in Europe) When friends read that out to me they laugh. I feel sad, because those are genuine questions that would not have been asked if they would have been educated.
Hello, I am a proud NRA member and I have a multitude of guns. I thought the safest thing to do for my children is explain them nothing about guns and gun safety. Because if I would, they would become bank robbers. And that is the reason my 16 year old Timmy shot your little Mary-Sue.
More and more people will start to see that Google is not the savior of the world. It is just a company with shareholders. And whatever it goals are, it will do anything to achieve that goal, including changing the laws in their advantage if needed.

They do this because otherwise they might be liable for copyright infringement. The fact that that image is much smaller then in real life does not take away the copyright that is on it.
I completely am against the copyright system how it is now, but that does not mean that Google should be able to do whatever it likes.

Looks a bit like sailing a huge container ship. Makes me wonder how long it would take to learn to drive that way. because honestly it looks a lot like the first time I drove third person on a computer.
What this is, is so people who have the old version must buy the new version, or what? Will there be a different number of letters in the new set, or just a re-print of the manual?
So what if I was already playing it that way? Will I be arrested? And if I play it by the old rules, will the Scrabble Police put me in jail? I assume that they would try to convince the court I violated their laws.
So just relax and play the game by whatever rules YOU decide are most fun for the group of people you play with.

Yeah, because cords are so hard to get by. It would take me about 10 minutes to get some from my friends. No PC in the bedroom is the best way anyway.
