Please note that they are talking about free as in speech. This includes Opera and pine. The latter was put on their non-OSS list because they were not 100% sure. So if in doubt, they put it on their non-oss list.
This still means that things can be distributed freely, just that the source is not as open as one would think or perhaps not available to you or to them. You are obviously free to install these programs or not.
Where are these numbers of the American Alpine Club? The link only gives the abolute numbers not the relative numbers. Also I can imagine that a sprain enkle is written down with e.g. football and nothing is noted with alpinism.
The easily-disposed-of parts of a disassembled laptop are worth as much as the whole lappy.
A thief is not in it only for money. He is in it for easymoney. He rather get 1x500EUR then 6x100EUR. Also the market for new portables is larger then the market for parts.

I will teach you in my verse
Sounds like corpse, corps, horse, and worse.
I will keep you, Suzy, busy,
Make your head with heat grow dizzy.
Tear in eye, your dress will tear,
So shall I! Oh hear my prayer.
Liberty, library, heave and heaven,
Rachel, ache, moustache, eleven.
We say hallowed but allowed,
People, leopard, towed, but vowed.
Mark the differences, moreover,
Between mover, cover, clover;
Leeches, breeches, wise, precise,
Chalice, but police and lice;
Camen, constable, unstable,
Principle, disciple, label.
That in the end might however SAVE the earth, not destroy it. One species less.
Now if humans would not exist anymore, what would happen with all the rest of the animals? Cows and others kept in captivity might die. Others will roam free and prosper. Or will there be situations where no hunting is been done anymore that we will loose everything?
These cases don't happen because there's something wrong with copyright law; they happen because the RIAA has been disregarding the law, and the judges have usually let them get away with it.
Then don't blame RIAA, blame the system. The story is just that they filed a lawsuit without any investigation and get away with it. The fact that the person is in hospital, doesn't have a computer, is dead,..., is just showing that there was no investigation. The fact that this is acceptable is a nuch bigger crime then what the RIAA is doing. If they do it for RIAA, they do it for others as well. Not the fact that RIAA does this should be the big uproar, the fact that it is possible should be.
Sell something that is less and has no need to ship, like a prayer or their name and email posted on a newsgroup so that spammers can find it. Or the service for filling out those things that fall out of magazines. Or a thank-you email.
Never. It is the law of the fittest. The weaker ones will die and the stronger ones will survive. I would also remove the speed limit. Sure, in the beginning we might loose a few, but in the end we will have a much stronger and super fast human race with tremendous reaction ability. Why are they holding us back?
I specially bought a new car radio for about the price of a bluetooth set. Call comes in and I press a button on the radio. I have a bluetooth headset as well, but don't use it anymore. Either the battery was empty or I had to look for it, being MORE distracted then without it or I forgot it.
I now also can play MP3s not only from CD, but also SD and USB. And I do not look like an idiot with a probe in my ear.
This should be standard, I think, for all new car radios.
Drive a car like a BMW or Porsche or whatever -- I mean really drive it like it's capable of being driven -- and you'll understand a little better why cars like that cost more. I know what comes next: Overpriced? Depends on who you ask.
What comes next is whether it is legal to drive a car in that way on a daily basis. When I go to work in my New Beetle, I drive just as fast as the guy in the BMW, Porche or Ferrari. When I drive it on a Sunday afternoon, the difference is only clear the first few meters when the red light turns green. So if you look at what performance you actually use, then yes, those cars are heavily overpriced. Just a minority will use their own cars to drive on a circuit. Most people who do such a thing will have a seperate car for it. I do have a New Beetle, so I should dhut up about overpriced cars you say? No. I know that it is an overpriced car. I was aware of that the moment I bought it. I know it now and I have said so to anybody who asked what kind of car I have. It is just that I do not need an excuse to be aware of that.
Reminds me of the defence of the stainless steel rat who explained that robbing banks was good for everybody. First the banks had an insurance, so they did not realy loose any money. The insurance company did get their fees, so also they did not loose anything. The police got to do aomething importand. The newspapers could write something interesting. The people like that something happend and the money was spend and got back into the economy instead if just sitting there.

1) People call things slippery slope
2) They must be hiding something
3) Minority report
A few years ago. It is now openSUSE. SUSE is the short name for SUSE Linux Enterprise. Before that it was S.u.S.E.

Simulator? More like a stimulator!
This is the people of the Matrix and we want our story back.
Do you have any proof of this? I assume you are talking percentages, not absolute numbers.

So you like Galeon better because you have 200 tabs in it? Put 500 in Opera and you will like that better, I assume.

What about other people with the same name who are nerds?

So for them it would be good to run such a program. Dumbasses exist regardless of the OS they use.
Rule number one of an investment is not to invest money you can not miss. This has been true since at least 1637 and most likely before that as well.
