I use RSS feed to viuew. An yes, I do see a lot that might interest me when I look at the Recommended list. About half of that would be from the people I subscribed to. That means I have already seen it or are about to see it.
THen when I search for new content, I get again one of the around 200 channels I was subscribed to or things I have unsubscribed from for a reason and things I have already seen.
If I want to look at things I have never searched for (e.g. keeping chicken or whatever) to broaden my horizon, I either get things I have already seen, things I might be interested in (No, I am not) or clickbait. That with the obvious pushed content I have no interest in.
The problem starts with the fact that they have only a few categories and no sub categories. It is like listening to a Rock station and miss out on all the good music you never knew existed.
I generally hate it when people assume they know what is good for me.It is not better if it is a lousy algorithm that sells me as the product.

I have three 27" 4K monitors. I basically stick to something that is not that different than what I had on 1920x1080 as content. On one side it would be great to have that al on one screen, on the other hand, I do like that I have 3 monitors and can have multiple desktops on each monitor.

I could then just go shopping and buy it in a store.
The price difference is not that much for most things. The few EUR I might save I rather spend on seeing what I buy first. And if speeds is an issue, then I will need it NOW, not tomorrow.

As that was a channel from another country, they moved that to digital as well. Even though they would gave me a digital thing for free, I decided that it was just not worth the money.
In the past you could talk about what you saw the previous day. Now? Not so much. 500 things and 500 people who watch something differently. So even that aspect is gone.

That way not only do I know if an email really comes from the company and is easy to filter.
If I get an emnail from my bank to a generic email adress I also use, I will know it is spam. If I get email from somebody that is not my bank to my banking adress, I know that that address is somehow compromised and probably other data from that company as well. Either by being hacked or having sold anything.
To be fair, till now only Ebay has done this and I assume because I have not unclicked not to have the email not being given to others on each page I visited.

And I know what risks I take by having it all in the same house. Very few things I have off-site encrypted on two separate servers. That is about 20MB of data that is absolutely critical for me.
If I am able to figure out how to do it and what the risks are, they should be able to do so as well. Because had they invested that money in their ability to restore data, it would have saved a LOT of monies.
And paying out just atracks others to do the same (or even the same ones)

The thing with Android is that it is pre-installed. The few geeks that use something else is minimal. This is why Android even exists. Because it is pre-installed. The majority of the people do not bother to install a different OS. They do not bother to install a different radioin their car. They buy something and if it works well enough, they use it, regardless.
So no, Android will go away if it wil not be pre-installed anymore. At least not in any meaningfull way.
This is also the reason why the Linux Desktop is still not a thing. It is also a reason why it does so well on severs, because that is done by the few people who actually look at the OS as a separate tool, not as something that comes with the machine.
