Sony, listen to me. PLEASE BRING THESE SHELLS BACK!!! You could have a "printable" surface for all the game art on the front and all the little wordy stuff on the back... Please, protect my games from my own clumsiness!
Use the exact same disc media as everyone else, but make the sleeve opening proprietary. That way if someone wanted to copy the disc (which they will) at least the little warez-monkeys will have to trash their original case doing it.:)

I know that to each his own and all of that, but I learned how to type on an IBM Selectric myself and I'm sitting here blazing along watching my cursor, and not even glancing at the keyboard. I definitely had no idea how important that silly little typing class would be later on...
My brother types with his two index fingers and swears that he has no problems. I've watched him. I can accomplish as much in an hour as he can in two days. Touch typing is a skill, and a vastly underrated on in my opinion.
The thought that typing may be a lost art saddens me. Seriously. It is important for a school kid to know what a mitochondria is but it isn't important for them to know how to type? HELLO?!? How many workplaces can you honestly step into that don't have a QWERTY in use somewhere on the premises on a daily basis?

Suddenly Sparky decides he needs to be doing 70 instead of 40. *While* I'm still in the passing lane along side him.
This happens to me ALL the time. I get macho jerks, you get ditzy tailgaters. Shall we call it even?;)

I swear, I think my blood pressure spikes every time I get a "FW: FW: Fwd: FWD: FW: Fwd: This is SO cool" email that contains hundreds of addresses in both the TO field and the body itself. Because I just *know* that my address is being carried along on the tide of stupidity that it has been sucked into as well...

Scenario 2: Aliens are savage, but have the ability of space travel. (No doubt stolen from the last morons to visit their world.) They promptly head this way for conquest/lunch.
Scenario 3: Aliens are incredibly advanced, their ships arrive as soon as they get our message. Who gets to explain poverty, murder, war, child porn, etc, etc, etc to them? What, no one raises their hand? Well maybe we shouldn't draw attention to ourselves until we're ready for the consequences.

What do you think the odds are of Id whipping up a standalone app for D3 benchmarking? Something like the benchmarking in UT2003, but self contained?

Seriously. No one is forcing you to play Doom3. You can always wait a year or two for hardware prices to come down and THEN upgrade. (This is what I do and it works great. I'm chronically two years behind the trends. This gives me cheaper hardware, cheaper software, lots of bug fixes and updated drivers to boot. w00t!;)
