I asked Superior about it at the time, and apparently it was down to Solidisk implementing bank-switching in a different way from all the other sideways RAM boards out there.
Of course, they could have just said that in order to avoid getting complaints about the decryption routines:)
You mean like all those "smoking kills" warnings that take up half a cigarette packet?
Yup, Joe Consumer really pays attention to those...
(That said, I'd like to see those notices as well, so I can steer clear. But it's not going to reduce the amount of DRM out there, because most folk will just go "but I want my Craaazy Frog!" and buy it anyway.)
Well, last.fm only does it if you explicitly download and install the appropriate plugin. It doesn't come enabled by default in any music player I know of (and even if it was, it would have to ask for your username/password before it could connect).
Not to mention that some plugins let you turn them off temporarily (certainly iScrobbler does) if you want to listen to something that you don't want to own up to:)
In any case, the thing that a lot of people seem to be missing is that iTunes isn't sending this straight to Apple - it's going via Omniture, a marketing company. Apple hasn't mentioned one thing about why the data's going this route, or what Omniture is doing with this data.
Funnily enough the best for large stuff seems to be Outlook Express. Only that's basically unusable because it doesn't do quoting correctly and you have to manually edit the message (trying doing that when replying to a 500 line epic).
Don't include the UK in that "rest of the world" - they haven't invented a speed camera that can spot lane blockers and tailgaters yet, so these bozos tend to get away with it...
Check the Portable Audio forum at Head-Fi. General opinion seems to be that the 5G is the best iPod so far, but you may need an amp to get the best from your headphones.
...and yet you'd be amazed at the number of so-called professionals who use "pls" instead of "please" in emails, especially when emailing those below them in the corporate food chain.
I think it's to reinforce some "I'm so much more important than you that I don't have to bother typing three extra letters" thing.
...or the message text would get added to the company's spam filters in fairly short order once somebody receives 50 identical messages from different addresses.
Granted, that shows lack of clue, but we already know they're somewhat low on that particular resource...
My Xbox locked up solid last night - but given how stable it's been when playing everything but Burnout: Revenge, I'm inclined to blame EA for that one.
(I mean, surely the testers should have spotted the number of times you got pushed THROUGH THE FLOOR and into hyperspace? Not to mention the restarts right in front of a wall, so you can't go anywhere until you've reversed, by which time you're last. It's about a 50:50 chance as to whether it will lop the last letter off your profile name, come to that. Less annoying, though I'm fed up of being called "Arsefac"...)
Don't forget widgets that get updates from remote web servers.
A popular widget can put one hell of a load on the server. If everybody who has the widget on their Dashboard is getting updates every 5 minutes - boom, your server a splode. If the updates are only going to people who have Dashboard open, that's a major saving right there.

I remember being extremely annoyed that the expanded version worked with just about every Sideways RAM setup except Solidisk's, which is what I had.
Obviously not a vi user :)
Here you go (though if you were searching for "commadore" rather than "commodore", that would probably explain why you didn't find much :)
Frankly, I can see an upside...
Your free iPod sig, on the other hand... :)
Mind you, the Megadrive one would have been much more comfortable to use...
HTH.

Why would Intel Mac users be calling Dell Support, though? :)

It's helping save my sanity until work gets my Mac ordered :)

I use PithHelmet, which nukes ads quite nicely.

Good point, well made. I should have said "EA" rather than "the testers"...

SPECS cameras take photos of the front of the vehicle. Motorcycles don't have front plates...
Saves wear and tear on the baseball bat, at least...

Sorry, you're not my type.
