  1. Re:Noooooo! on Best Language for Beginner Programmers? · · Score: 1

hey! i learned QBASIC before any other language and im a great... pretty good... ok, average.. alright, you win.

seriously though, ive heard the damage is only done by heavy use of GOTOs - which im afraid i did a lot of back when i was nine and learning from my mom. however, the desire to use GOTO faded fast when i learned how nice functions were. however, im still in school so maybe i dont know just how much damage BASIC did to me. ;)

  2. Re:Isn't that an oxymoron? on Wikipedia Announces Tighter Editorial Control · · Score: 1

It really comes down to people who want wikipedia to be a valuble source of information being more dedicated. Anyone who understands the concept behind the site shouldnt doubt the credibility when they see vader, but rather move to change it back to what it should be. thats the purpose of peer editing after all. Besides, i trust my peers more about a topic like Banksy than some crusty britannica guy anyway.

When I'm on live and somebody makes a homophobic comment I respond with "How old are you? twelve?". Of course, many times they are, making the argument a little bit harder.
It also helps to remind people that they are spending their time playing videogames on the internet. This typically usurps any delusions they have about being "the shit" and makes it easier to make your point. The anonymity can give people delusions of granduer.

I'm personally very curious about how vegetarians will react to this because there are so many diffrent motivations behind not eating meat. I dont eat it because i object to the industry behind it and dont particularly like the idea of animals dying, even though i love the taste of meat. I'll be curious about the industry this may create and the health of this stuff. The non-pinko type veggies often do it because of health issues, so the vegetarian approval of this psuedo meat seems like it could go either way.

Eclipse is really a basic kernal that runs various plugins on top. The java IDE is just the one that comes with it. You can find a buttload of eclipse plugins if you look, for every type of coding you could want to do.
I've used it in the past for java coding, and have been looking into using it for php, although I haven't gotten around to getting it set up. Just like any other high level app, eclipse can be difficult to set up.
