I _would_ have taken the freeway home on friday had I known, but instead I got caught in this horrible weather while traveling through the upper atmosphere. Way to have 20/20 hindsight NOAA.
Somtimes its just plain old fun to read what people wrote in comments because you actually can get some insight into what was going on... its less formal than output.
seeing other's code-in-progress is always reassuring when there are things like:
/*good lord do i hate this effing function! please god just make it wooooooork!*/
makes me feel not so alone.
as for variable names, when I was in my first comp sci class, I used to name variables obscene things (I was in highschool), which I thought was dandy until I realised that I'd have to go back and change everything so I could submit it to the instructor. sigh..
I think that if you play enough video games to become violent as a result of them, chances are you aren't interacting directly with people anyway.
Of course, I've definetly smacked friends upside the head when they beat me... but that has a lot more to do with they're relentless trash talking, especially considering we were playing sports games.
Could we have a combo trunk building/blue box building article posted?
I was born too late to ever get to successfully use a bluebox, and i think it would be cool.
ya know, if its not too much trouble.
Are you certain? I think nudity and the like are allowed on TV in educational/medical context. i.e. MTV can show a doctor giving a breast exam, but not a girl showing her friend her new implants. (all in the same show, mind you)
I think that if you wait long enough on any PC game, you can eventually play for free. I mean, look at all the suckers who payed for doom, and now I can play it free all day long. muhuhahahahaha goodness im sad.
blizzard opposed to cheating? haha anyone remember playing diablo online? I only played it later on, and when I did, I'm pretty sure the number of cheaters far exceeded people playing fairly. I wonder what it's like now.
its discouraging because i have a high opinon of plenty of people around here, thats all.
but i am taking an xml class dealing with SOAP and the like, so thats nice to hear. Of course, not much is going to make me not a little scared when i enter the workforce. I can't shake the feeling that all my knowledge will be completely worthless. heh.
As a CS student using mostly java, all the trash talking it gets on/. is rather discouraging. Should i learn python or just go back to c++ like in highschool?
I suppose its somewhat in poor taste, but im all about free speech.
I don't like that it only allows you to be oswald though. It would be much more intresting if you could also try it in the multiple shooter scenario. if this were an option, the game would be much more likely to "undermine the theory there was some shadowy plot behind the assassination" as the developer claims its purpose is.
Writing the code for spacecraft is no harder than for any other realtime life- or mission-critical application. The thing that is hard is debugging a problem from another planet: you can't put your hands on the malfunctioning system to see what's going on; you must use intuition and experience.

If they had men in thongs, the reaction would be much stronger, considering the amount of homophobia I encounter on xbox live...
If anything, this might boost the self-esteem of said "ugly chicks", considering that a lot of geeks are befuddled when _any_ female talks to them.
Pretty sure it was called "Rise of the Triad" or Triads.

I wouldn't say that - Cotton Candy squad has yet to be taken.
"Do I see this?"
"No, you're getting drunk at the bar"
"Alright, but if there are any girls there I want to do them!"
If you recall, everyone thought the original gmail story was a joke - and i didnt believe this one until i saw my own storage change.

i just fell asleep.
I assure you that i can run a box with any OS without any sort of internet attacks longer than you can.*
*it will not be connected to any outside network at all. your box will be. (Microsoft pulled this to give a high security rating to NT, i believe)

you see, they accidentally opened a gate to hell on mars.

holy shit is that funny. if i had mod points, you'd get em all.
but does it run on linux?
If you consider LAN parties... its probobly the biggest party school in the country.
sans keg stands of course.
they should release a patch that will let me run the game without $1200 worth of hardware upgrades. :/
test.
