    There will always be the 1337 among us who want the most recent and fastest chip, no matter who makes it or what makes it fast, as long as they can get 4 more fps in Doom 3 and run a Seti@home task in 3 minutes less. If Intel sells some chips and steals some business from AMD et al., which they almost certainly would have with this thing, why not do it? They've already put time and money into R&D, so why not just go ahead with the thing?

    Biodiesel is in the domain of bacterial genetic modification, not plant. The potentially huge reproduction rate and smaller genome of bacteria makes them ideal for the job.

    Smarter cars will help, sure. The problem is: the 'bad drivers' will start to rely on the car to do the thinking for them. I don't exactly want to share the road with these people.

    We've heard about this before. We predict when/where the storm will happen, then we prevent it and put the storm in jail, but then sometimes there's a minority report and it turns out we have to let all the storms go free and the supercomputers retire to a nice little pastoral island somewhere in Maine or something.

    With all the spam-blocking programs out there, and with most of the major web-based email providers offering their own spam protection, I wonder why there's still a tremendous uproar about spam. Myself, I haven't needed to delete a single spam message in probably six months, and I have three web-based accounts.

    Is spam still truly the problem people say it is?

    If this is ignorant, then I embrace it as an opportunity to learn.
