As long as they leave intact the ancient, tiny, unresizable Environment Variables window that hasn't been updated since it was first introduced in Windows NT, I'll be happy. Who doesn't like editing a huge path in a tiny 40 character single-line text field?
It's very useful for games. Let's say you've made an online game, and you want settings for things like volume, key controls, etc. Sure, you could have the server remember those things and send them up to the flash player each time. But what if you have a different keyboard at home and want a different key layout? What if you want the volume off at work, but on at home? These are perfect applications for client-side flash variables.
My local Redmond Bear Creek GameStop claimed they would be getting "very few" Wii systems on Friday, probably around 5 or 6. I'll try again after the holidays.
I got my silver underwear from REI several years ago for mountaineering. What sold me was mostly the reduction of odors, since when you're on a mountain, you're wearing that sweaty underwear for two days of solid work! Highly recommended.
I'm not suggesting that all content should be free. I don't presume to tell anyone else how to run their site. I'm just giving an example. And YES, I do generate content. The users ask the questions, but they don't provide the content. I spend several hours a day writing for the site. For over a year now. So there!:)
I pay for my high-traffic humor site, The Conversatron all out of pocket with money from my day job. I like providing my content for free without hassling with banners or some wacky payment model. My readers like it also. It all works out.
In terms of amount of interaction with women, game companies are probably among the closest modern equivalents of ancient monasteries. In my company of 50 people, there are 2 women. We all work long hours and don't know how to go about meeting women on the weekends. So why not just make it official?
A few months ago I bought a Sony KL-W9000 50" widesceen TV, and WOW! This is definatly the way to watch TV! It linedoubles all signals to 480p, which makes orginarly TV look fantastic, and anamorphic DVDs look nearly better than HDTV. Sure, there's no widescreen TV broadcasts, but heck, I don't watch much TV anyway. The price ($2000) wasn't bad either for a 16x9 50" flatscreen digital TV. I can't emphasise too much how sweet this set is.
So don't pity us too much, Europe, we have plenty of widescreen models available. Pick up any Goodguys catalogue and about 1/4 the screens shown are 16x9. It's just another case of Americans being slow to accept change (Look how long we've kept the english measurement system around!) What with various manufacurers announcing that within 2 years, they'll only be making widesceen sets, I'm sure the change will come though, so don't sweat it.
Jeez, anyone can tell you that proper grammer dictates the use of the word "an" instead of "a" before nouns and adjectives beginning with a vowel sound, such as the adjective "ell". But I applaud Hemo's word choice, most men would have gone with a less daring adjective, such as "well" or "thuroughly"
There actually was another Darkman, and another after that! They both sucked, but the original Darkman was pretty good. Hey, you have to love Sam Raimi's movies!
In a weird twist of fate, Tansmeta may very well be the Darkman of processors, but for an entirely differnt reason! Like Darkman, Transmeta works in complete secrecy, and like Darkman, Transmeta can appear to be any processor, just like Darkman can appear to be any man.

Can I "like" someone's "want" or "want" someone's "like"?
Some kind of man in the middle attack?
By the time the rotors are kicking up dust from the landing area, isn't it a little late to be looking down at landing markers anyway?

Flash cookies are shared by all browsers.
That is incorrect, at the most permissive mode, a flash program can only access cookies from the same domain as where it was loaded from.
By which you mean "it's time for HTML5 in 3 years when IE9 penetration is high enough, assuming IE9 supports HTML5 when and if it comes out".
Ha, thanks, I guess I'll loiter around outside the NOA building until someone takes pity or calls security. :)

Yes, and those few select people are the ones they are hoping to give a different perception. Remember, he's talking to the PRESS.

We had much better seconds, back in those days.
What's happened to the usual Slashdot crowd? Maybe they're off getting their electric cars serviced.
I like your webpage! Server errors are an excellent way to keep too many people from congregating on your site at once!

Yes, real women make us game developers nervous. We like our women like we like our coffee - highly polygonated and unobtainable.
Oh pooh. You have ruined my fun, sir.
Hey! He's insulting my league!

Wider is better!

Darkman indeed.
I love when people have my sense of humor.
