    I disagree with you. While back then when you were using 2k it could be seen as a diagnostic problem because not everyone used it.

    These days most people use XP, 2k, Vista, etc... which use essentially the same core and diagnostics are similar so they dont care what version of Windows your using.

    Linux != Windows therefore your warranty is invalid is definitely anti-linux behavior.
    Times have changed. They wont care anymore what kind of Windows you use.

    Well after running 'netstat -pav' its reasonably safe to pull the R45 plug since you have a record of any connections incoming.
    After that logs of stuff like 'ps aux' and syslog along with a backup of the hard drives allows you to pull the AC plug.

    I dont see any real ethical problems with this as long as they dont breed with normal sheep.

    Keep them separate and you end up with on-demand organs which will save many lives.

    You dont have a gigabit network do you? If you did you'd be demanding more speed than the pathetic 120mb/s you get with gigabit.

    And thats with most computers needing a minute or two after a copying a file just to recover from the ordeal of having that much data shoved in to it at once..

    Two layers of paint would do the trick. One layer for Wifi and one for Cellphones.

    The wifi paint would probably easily knock out the 1.9ghz band and you just need another paint to knock out around 1ghz.

    I love laughing at people who use Media PCs in Australia.

    There is no program guide data available for them which renders it mostly useless.
    MythTV naturally gets EPG data easily for Australia.

    For some people, this will mean games. For others, multimedia. For still others, CAD, or other occupation-specific apps. But for everyone, it means "When I want to do _______, it better work on the first try." What really annoys me is that most of the above isnt Linux's fault at all.
    There is nothing we can do about it.

    The brand was that important. Linux is still the little unknown, and that won't jive well with most consumers. Yeah uhh thats what the CBC is for.

    I disagree.

    A awful lot of people have never heard of Linux nor do they know that there is anything other than Windows.
    If they start hearing about something which doesnt have the pitfalls of Windows then it will be very interesting.

    Also there is the people who think its a nerds only OS (e.g. my mother). When they start seeing in mainstream media they may want to look in to it.
    As it stands right now, I dont have a snowball's chance in hell of getting my mum to switch.
    It was hard enough getting her to use Firefox.

    I agree. I have good days and bad days (e.g. I cant concentrate atm which is why I'm posting) and working online makes my job easier because I dont have to work if I dont want to.

    Let me guess? It uses the same amount of CPU and Memory as Vista does too?

    Sorry but I'm still trying to figure out how Windows manages to make skins so bloaty while Linux makes them light and far better.

    We have a multifunction Inkjet with Wifi, Networking, etc...
    Never had a problem with it.

    I dont know what everyone is saying about clogging. I've never had it happen ever.
    And yes the printer isnt used much.

    Your forgetting the obvious one. Making them out of plastic.

    Far more durable, cheap, easy to put the plastic windows in and very difficult to counterfeit.

    I dont know about you but 200 MB/s read times is plenty fast for me.
    Plus its not as wasteful as RAID 10 while keeping redundancy.

    Yeah but Humans need oxygen too you know.

    Halon systems eliminate basically all oxygen.
    These systems just reduce the amount of oxygen for the same effect.

    Your not using Gigabit are you?

    I get 0.09ms pings over Gigabit with two switches in between.
    This is CAT 6 not fiber over about 20m too.
