    Yeah but quite a few sites dont have a DNS entry for domain.com. They only have one for www.domain.com.

    You never got the Atmel drivers working because you were using drivers made from a dead project.
    You want http://at76c503a.berlios.de/ (I have one of the cards.)

    The VMware issue is just that. A VMware issue.
    They simply havent updated their drivers. I know a pile of other drivers which need small tweaks to get working with newer kernels.

    Of course it all depends on your distro how external drivers are handled.
    I thought 'emerge nvidia-drivers' was pretty easy for installing the nVidia binary driver..

    The nVidia binary driver is now part of the kernel? Cool!

    The kernel comes with GPLed stable drivers. You can get unstable and binary drivers elsewhere.

    Thats why I pay a outrageous amount to a ISP for a true unlimited connection and no shaping of any kind.
    Its worth every cent.

    Context is important here.

    A security exploit in animated cursors and then they stuff up a number of other applications trying to patch the exploit.
    This isnt Internet Explorer. Its a simple animated cursor.

    And yeah I am using Linux and have been for years. Happy?

    Uh...Ever heard of not playing a corrupt ANI file? Theres no need to have exploits there nor is there a reason to break existing functionality.

    If you read the hotfix page you'd see this:

    The Hhctrl.ocx file that is included in security update 928843 and the User32.dll file that is included in security update 925902 have conflicting base addresses. This problem occurs if the program loads the Hhctrl.ocx file before it loads the User32.dll file. So yes it is Microsoft's fault that they screwed up.

    ISP email + email forwarding = heaven. For lazy people anyway. ;)

    I eventually had to get my own mail setup because of spam.
    I kept the same email address and no one but me noticed a difference because I went from mail forwarding to a proper mail server.

    They advertise that the Vista experience includes things which most computers cant run.

    It runs the operating system but it doesnt do what Microsoft advertises.

    Whats that operating system which fits on a floppy with networking, GUI, web browser, etc....? I forget it.

    Adding new features will always increase size but adding bloat is increasing size without any new features.

    Works in every browser (including IE 6) but not IE 7. Microsoft fucked up.

    How do you figure that? Your wanting a specific behavior which isnt a norm.

    Why dont you make a petition or something else equally stupid to remove animated gif support from Firefox.
    While it may keep you happy, most people dont want that to happen.

    Now, what I think will happen, is that Turnitin will advise its clients (schools, universities, etc.) that in order to use the service, they must obtain a release from students that includes permission to upload the files. This way, they'll just offload the responsibility for copyright infringement off on the schools, who will just force students to release their work, or refuse to give them a grade. I really cant wait to see a school being sued for refusing to grade papers.

    They say the same thing about Australia. Same size as the US but with only 20 million people.

    Our broadband isnt on par with Asia and Europe but compared to the US its not bad.
    A lot of places can get ADSL 2+ (24mbps) and basically everywhere can get up to 8mbps.
