    I expect to be even more amused in 2020 than I was in 2016. That was the hardest I laughed in a long time.

    A tube is inherently linear in its operating range. Semiconductors are not.

    The key word is 'heterodyne'. Amplifiers build from linear components don't need to filter those out. Which is what makes tube amps _potentially_ better. Devil is in the details.

    Have an EE explain.

    It's Oklahoma. One empty flat boring 'park' is plenty. Nobody goes to Oklahoma for vacation, the people that live there just stopped wherever their wagon broke. Still have the broken wheel by the drive to mark the location.

    There are many ways for rich Chinese to move money out. Macau lets them move out their 'winnings'. So they buy a bunch of chips, play for a while, then cash their chips out for foreign currency.

    Bitcoin lets Chinese that don't have relatives on the central committee move their money out. Which the Chinese don't like one bit.

    You haven't considered your default case. It isn't some hippy renewable silliness.

    Your choices are: burn new oil and use shitty plastic or burn shitty plastic and make new plastic out of oil.

    Actually you first have to figure out a way to separate the plastic by chemistry, but even if you assume the hard part is done, it still makes sense to just burn the plastic.

    'Better' compression algorithms come at a tradeoff of greater compression time. In the 21st century anyhow, low hanging fruit is long gone.
