Ups... Flashblock was realy blocking this and there was no square to click and unblock;( Disabled the flashblock plugin and it worked fine (I was just playing with NoScript plugin and forgot about flashblock).
Not sure what's wrong, I see the initial black square where video was suposed to apear, but 3 or 4 secs later I get the message:
"The video timed out attempting to play.
Please ensure that you do not have any Flash Blocking plugins active."
Inside that same square.
I do have flashblock installed, but allowed scripts globally to try to see this video and nothing changed...
Does the binary flash player also auto-update or I'm supposed to update manually (I'm using "Shockwave Flash 9.0 r48" right now).
I'm using latest stable ubuntu, I can see youtube videos, but not CNN videos:(... is there something unrecursively executable with this specific content?
Try shaving in the end of the shower, the more you stay in the water, the more soft the hair becomes... I can use the same blade for months without needing replacement (I think it's 4 blade system lined up in the row) without cream and without mirror, and no cutting problems.
I'm waiting for PS3 just because it will run Linux. I'm running Linux since y2k on every computer I can and can't imagine going back to MS software model. PS3 has power needed to run detailed games and offcourse it can run easily Linux without any extra hardware cost. If you don't really know what Linux is/does/might do, don't expect to predict if you would like running Linux on PS3. Even if you think you know what Linux can do, think again it might be doing something in the future you'll dream about. Ever heard of the MATRIX? neo didn't know what it was... U'll need to live inside Linux for a while just to start understanding that there are no limits... "But I just want to play GAMES!!!" you could live in a game, but at least try to understand: some one can make your life much brighter with the right tools on your platform.
So, if it uses DLP (lots of micro-mirrors tech) I think it makes sense to use it as a video projector, at least it is portable, and have an adjustable screen size (easily removed when not needed)...
I've been checking the changelog more than twice a day in the last couple of months (100ths of times) and it loookts like this is *THE ONE* we were all wating for;).
Next I'll get married, move to a new house and take slack 11 with us inside my nest personal server (AMD GeodeNX - global warming killer) - that have also been waiting in the last 30 dayd with an empty HD;)
Thank you Patrick, you've make this digital world a better place to be;)
You are forgeting that probably a single PS3 can run this as fast as 10 computers.. That'll reverse your opinion: why should you use your computer for 240hours if you could do the same on your PS3 in 24hours?...
I do store localy *some* passwords on my Linux's Firefox, but when I'm not home I don't even login to some websites just cos I don't trust all the software instaled on that machine (including the OS). How can this extension protect in any way some personal data on forign computers from spywares and viruses? (not to mention they will be on an internet server somewhere) Maybe I'll use it for the bookmarks, after all it might be very handy;)
I think the room light should be enough to read the keyboard, but not more than that.
I can stand long computer session times better when using dark backgrounds and light text (In Firefox I forced all webpage colours to ave black backgrounds, yelow text and light blue links) I know the pages look diferent, but after a while you'll get used to this. (Old text terminal monitors always had black backgounds and light text). And lower the room and monitor light so you can read fine, and don't find the image light too agressive. (Brighntess to the minimum, and contrast to litle over minumum).
I think a great room light is a white or yellow chrismas light tube (not flashing ones) placed near the ceiling behind you, so you'll have very good indirect light without shadow angles.
About dark backgrounds I still don't accept why every aplication gui (mainly Microsoft) is using white backgounds on computer monitors) maybe it's to simulate a white paper, but paper is an passive light divice and computer monitors are a light source. (Who want's to look directly at light sources!?!)....
Unfortunately from the time being, I still can't use black windows background with black butons background in KDE 3.5.0 (I think it's a bug, so buttons just disapear:(
It's been a long time:) not 3 years, but 5, we are in 2005, how could I ever forget the day I started to control my computer:)
Actualy I started this millenium using Slack, maybe we all end it using Slamd256, who knows:P
AmigaOS was also a good OS before Windows trashed the world...
Also tryed some of most famous distros, but always come back to slack. Completely replacing my all* my windows for about 3 years now and couldn't be happyer*;)
*exept Google Eatrh and Google Talk:( at least gaim lets me login to google talk, but I'd love to see a Google slack.tgz package for Google Earth and Google Talk... I know, I'm asking too much, but please Google, give Linux users the respective native apps......
Not working here using:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050907 Firefox/1.4
On Slackware 10.1.
It just opens a google page searching for "--------" and the folowing text:
The "I'm Feeling LuckyTM" button automatically takes you to the first web page returned for your query.
An "I'm Feeling Lucky" search means less time searching for web pages and more time looking at them.
What about a slashdot contest for the top 10 funiest posts of the month?;)
It would need some sort of voting for funiest of the day for each post (or someting like this), but I think it would be prety good comic reading.
This is why I love reading/.:)
You people make this forums amazingly funny;)
Ofcourse the news titles are also from the best subjects on the net. Unlike some complains I like most news titles posted and the few that don't care much just skip them, cos the next title will be around the corner;)
I love you all slashdoters;)

I'm not used to Fedore startup scripts, (Slacware user) it seems fast, but don't know how fast it is compared to a x86 PC..
;)
He should have opened some OpenOffice app
This idea of terraforming on mars seems to be an alternative for using when our earth might lose essential life conditions for humans...
Does this mean PS4 will have a PS3 chip inside?

I'm desperatly waiting for a device like this with HSDPA or a Compact Flash HSDPA card for my hx4700...
yeap, but from that link:
:(
2005/06/02 ReactOS domain builder submitted to Xen 2005/05/20 FreeLdrs job is complete, kernel starts executing (but crashes immediately)
is seems it didn't made any progress during the past year
This could provide a smooth migration path win->lin keeping some win-apps in XEN/ReactOS

Maybe this light is a good choice:

(it's white led based, very low heat and power consumtion).

What about an identical system to flood the sensor with IR light and take the shot ? ;)
You'll only need the first 2 CD's the other 2 are sources, actualy if you don't want X and some other packages U'll only need the first CD...
When will we see a CD-Rom emulator using an HD full of ISO's and an LCD to select the ISO to use... (maybe a USB-2.0 botable device)
