That or Microsoft has already taken their revenge, DMCA'd them, had the FBI take down the servers, and are now combing the logs to find out who to go after next!
I'm the one who wrote the script and shot the video
Shame, shame! Aside from the bad outfit, and the bad acting, in the movie you scan first localhost (usually behind the firewall, so not to useful) then localhost/24... so good, you scanned 127.0.0.*, meaning you hit your own box 255-ish times! Again behind the firewall!
That said, I do have a copy of that movie on the usb stick in my pocket.
Just to be pendantic, as was said (somewhere) by Nullsoft, it is Winamp, not WinAMP, because Winamp is not the front-end to AMP that WinAMP was. Whatever AMP was. I guess it was the backend for the early versions of WinAMP that later became Winamp.
I actually did this to my parent-in-laws machine. However they noticed that it was a different browser (Firefox needs an IE look-alike skin as well). And then they figured out that the Windows Update link (which had to be left as IE) was "the old browser" and if they hit stop, they had their old browser.
At this point I decided to refuse any future requests for tech support.
I beleive Slashdot is standards compliant. HTML 3.2, according to its !DOCTYPE. Now if only some-one could come up with a HTML 3.2 standards compliant browser. More standards support, I say! (Yes, I use FireFox)
All they do is server based, but it's not all web-based. When they have that web-browser up (yup, IE) to fill in details (which is only for some type of claims) you have to notice that they have another window open behind it, that is more traditional ANSI console. If you watch real close (or know some-one who works in Centerlink), you'll see that the information they are entering on the nice pretty web form is being re-entered in that screen when they hit Next. So even their web-based front end is nothing more then a GUI for the console-style app's they use for everything else! Which makes me wonder, could they port the desktop's to Linux, because does this system lock them in to IE/ActiveX? They are almost undoubtedly talking pure server-side, in which case they could well use the rebuild, they have more down-time then the MSN Messenger servers! (Usually around 4:30PM when every-one is trying to finish the paper-work and claims entries for the day.)
Sorry, I don't think this should get modded up. Irrlicht is a "game engine" (Well, mostly a graphics engine). Its not the answer to the question. He would have to redo all his code to fit in the Irrlicht framework.
I was going to say, use CEGUI but it isn't pure C. It is a very actively developed GUI system, with renderers for DirectX, OpenGL, Ogre3D and Irrlicht.
Unfortunately, the warranty on the TV had run out 16 days before it started freaking out.
How do the manufacturers manage to time the equipment decay so well? Makes me think of those TV shows where the equipment can report to the second how long it has until it will break.
I had a person the other day tell me the moon landing was a hoax because they wont use Hubble to photograph the site and prove it. So now he will add this one to his collection, I imagine. Once he hears about it anyway.
Supposedly there is too much radiation to send a manned mission to the moon.. yet he beleives in a satelite which I think is above the radiation belt anyway.
Sure, every-one signed up with GMail for the 1GB of Mail. But every-one I know who's used it, sticks with it for the GUI. It's so fast and easy to use. Thats the real power of GMail.
Yeah, mobile phones (cell phones to Americans) don't cause interference. Now I've got to finish typing this, because my pc speakers are making that "I'm about to get a call" noise... neat feature that! How did they manage to get all speaker makers to add it, so it works with all mobile phones! Who need's Bluetooth, lets just use whatever protocol these phones use to communicate to speakers!
Reults may vary because MS varies their licencing costs in different countries, not just based on exchange rate. Every time there is a currency conversion, some marketer thinks its a good idea to round up a few digits.
"Oh, it converts to $741 Australian? Lets make it a nice round $800."
I'm Australian, and from my perspective the US is not the center of the world. As much as it seem's that way to most Americans. Personally I don't think I'd mind seeing US lack behind. It was when they were only just past a backwoods little colony that they made some of their greatest advances.
Yup, that's the one. He did show up in the B5 series, only briefly though.

Dupe Post!
It's a joke.

Especially since those pesky terrorist hackers can insert back-door's and time-bombs and such wonderful things like they have in the movies into it!
Look, a linux machine!
Username: root
Password: Allah
Maybe there needs to be a Terrorist Distro (comes complete with the Terrorists Handbook). Make it easy for the FBI et al to crack down on.
I like how we do it here. When income goes up, so do the wages. Could make it interesting if/when profit goes down again though.
Sharman Networks did not create the FastTrack protocol/network. They made Kazaa Media Desktop, which used it, and loaded it with Spyware.
The people who made Skype made FastTrack. Sharman Networks purchased the rights to it.

Ah, crud. Try this instead. Or straight to a demo here.
Is this what they call Karma Whoring?
I had thought something like this would be possible (I was thinking more a replacement for flash though), so I'm glad to see it done.
Incidently: Coral links

Do they have an Australian branch? Or do I have to contact ASIO, on their behalf?

So finally the Internet really will be able to serve me coffee! And it will be bitter and rich.

I was just about to say this.
And you don't even have to view a webpage. How many Win32 worms* are there now?
* I mean real worms, not "the media calls it a worm for some unknown reason" when its really a virus.

(Yes, this is sarcasm.)

I am betting we can take Sony in the next generation... In Japan!
Oh wait. As discussed, they probably wont.
I am betting we will take it in the ass from Sony in the next generation In Japan!
Much better.
