Read up on the Catholic policy on Indifferentism. If they are ever the majority in the US, it's their (God mandated) duty to eradicate all rights and protections of the other religions, as only "The One True Religion" has a God given right to exist. Under their religion, the idea that all faiths are valid and should be equally protected under the law is, in itself, a heresy.

Stairway has got to be one of my least favorite Led Zep songs. I'd go so far as to say that I hate it (although not with quite as much hate as I reserve for Freebird). I'll never understand why people seem to like it so much and consider it to be the song by Led Zeppelin, especially when there's so many better songs by that group. No Quarter is my favorite, and actually I think the cover by Tool is better than the original. If I was paying to download Led Zeppelin I would skip Stairway to Heaven. I downloaded a discography years ago so I've got it anyway. If I ever wanted to listen to it for some reason, it's there.

Not everyone is capable of learning and understanding higher level mathematics, a lot of people aren't capable of learning and understanding it easily and more still have no practical reasons to even try regardless of their capacity to do it. My math education ended in high school with algebra, I never attempted anything beyond and I've never felt like my math skills are holding me back from anything.

That being said, it's impossible just from the summary to tell what really happened to the author and what his goals and needs are. Maybe he was a slacker with no motivation in high school and failed because he just wasn't trying hard enough. If he's got the motivation now, and improving his math skills really does interest him, he should go for it; at least until he gets a feel for how realistic it'll be for him to make improvement.

There really is no problem with the way Facebook is setup (apps are, overwhelmingly, useless and stupid but maybe there are some useful ones, I don't know). The problem is how people use the system. But you don't have to use it like that. Just a few days ago someone from my high school tried to add my as a friend on Facebook. I had never heard of this person before, couldn't remember speaking to or seeing them even once. She did go to the same high school as me, but we weren't friends. Ignore request.

Don't add people that you aren't/weren't actually friends with, and ignore requests from people who are just trying to increase their friends count and e-penis size. These websites are as useful as you make them.

But really, system reqs were a little high for what the game offered graphically. I basically only played it for the storyline, so I never had to deal with the unbalanced multiplayer. All around though it's an improvement over previous offerings from EA. I do think that the game would have been better under the old Westwood's control, but there's nothing anyone can do about that.

Did everyone miss the part where the guy said future versions would use different sensors, not the cumbersome camera sticking out the back? There's all kinds of different ways you could sense the position and motion of the fingers, this is just a tech demo and the camera was the quick and dirty way they got the thing working so they could show it off and maybe drum up support and interest in the technology. The ideal implementation would be way ahead of anything Apple is doing right now with simple touch screens.

Seriously this new sucks, every time EA buys something out to grab some IP they screw it up. I remember when they bought Westwood, the creators of the Command and Conquer series. What did we get out of that; RA2, Renegade...Generals (ok CNC3 is pretty good). I was looking forward to Mass Effect, but I've been boycotting EA for years now, and I don't think I'll be picking it up because of this. Mass Effect was the reason I was going to finally buy a new console and HDTV. Maybe I'll just be building a new PC instead, and I've been interested in the Wii too, which is looking like a better purchase because of the excellent price and my lack of an HD setup.

My grandfather commanded tanks and APCs during the Korean war, despite being old I'm sure he knows tons of jargon related to the equipment and tech he worked with back then and most of it would probably be jibberish to me too.

This seems like more proof of what I personally believe, that there is nothing mysterious or supernatural in our universe. Everything in human history about religion and spirituality is just our minds and imaginations running around playing tricks. Religion is a Ouija board; and we're all moving our own hands and pretending there's something great and magical out there that's doing it. Our minds are so primitive and easily tricked that we can even induce this feeling artificially. People have been doing it for a long time, long before this device. LSD users report the same kind of experiences as well as hallucinations. I'm not trying to say that having these experiences is a bad thing, but take it for what it's worth. It's an interesting or novel change in your perception, but it's transient, and only "real" insofar that it really happened to you, outside of your own mind everything is chugging along normally and the world is no different, no more mysterious or wondrous than it was before.

There's plenty of wonder in the world to be experienced without using a Ouija board.

I had never changed it or even went into the bios before so it was like that when it came shipped from Dell. I enabled it, couldn't really tell if there was a performance increase, everything seemed about the same. The machine is running Vista (Ultimate), and handles it quite nicely (with an x800 and 2gb of RAM). I'm wondering if hyperthreading would have been able to work under XP. Do you know the exact cause of the problem, is it something specific to the P4?
