Part of the problem is that airlines are cramming more seats into each plane. However the real limiting capacity for carrying people/cargo is not # of seats, its weight. Too heavy, then the plane needs extra runway to reach a higher speed just to get off the ground. Even if it does get off the ground, it may not stay that way for long if weight limits are exceeded.
Then there's the fact that we have more obese travelers. So yeah, not surprised its becoming more of a problem. And technically, weight and balance calculations are required before each flight.
I can confirm this. The VLC media player for iOS will play my itunes music, mp3's, and movies from my upnp media server, on both iphones and ipads.
I've got a 16gb iphone and ipad. Only using half the avail space with lots of apps. Of course, i don't download my movies or much music to it. Better to stream it.
Not sure what happened in ATL, but in central Texas when precip is falling while below freezing, we usually get sleet/ice, not snow. Driving on ice is a different story altogether.

So he started practicing giving short and succinct answers to specific topics. Once he started doing that, his complete answer would make it to the final product, with minimal editing needed.

Actually, takeoff is a critical part of the flight. If something goes wrong, you're low, slow, and the runway is *behind* you. However if you're already in the pattern (and at pattern alt) you could have an engine failure anywhere on the downwind leg and still make it back around to the runway.
The real question is whether or not 300 or so devices turned on affect the planes navigation systems. I seem to remember a study done a while back indicating the potential for problems (if any) was due more to the screens used by smart phones/ebook readers/etc, than wireless or anything else.

He's referring to guitar amps, not stereo amps. In the case of guitar amps, tube amps DO sound better than solid state. You don't get the natural harmonic distortion or volume dynamics of a tube amp in a SS. I've played SS amps that try to mimic tube amps, but its still sterile sounding compared to the real thing.
Now in the case of stereo amps, if you want accuracy, then sure, go with SS.
You need an equatorial mount to deal with the field rotation you would normally get in an alt-az mount with long exposure photography. For people with computerized alt-az mounts, you can get an adjustable wedge that goes under the mount head that will align one axis with polaris and solve the field rotation issue; however wedges add weight to an already heavy mount (not to mention shifting the balance of everything upwards).
