You have rights, the bag belongs to you, if you have anything you wrote, she can not force them from you, but being a kid in a school, not really knowing how far you can push defending your bag and your rights, most people will let the person take the bag, that is the first mistake, then

I tend to agree and disagree, the fact is, whatever clever thing you think you can do with JSP can also be done with ASP.net or even ASP....if you know your programming of that language, webservices, API and even .exe calls can all be done by all these technologies.

If you want to trash talk one language, or another, be sure that you have a firm point.

That being said, I tend to like one over another purely because of the ease of use by the designer/utilities/tools associated with it. Komodo was cool for awhile, but did not have the
extended libraries that .net does....and also it is easier to redo a .net website for someone
where as perl/python/php/jsp can come up with some pretty ugly syntax...

seeing as more hardcores use those languages, tends to lend to the use of obscure code, whereas the newbs liking to jump on .net will always to a tee keep their code LOOKING simple. Not efficient, but simple. SO redoing a full site in obscure code will be harder then redoing a site that is in cleaner more evident code.

    Just my 2 cents

When you drive a car and can hurt people by driving over them, you need a license and pass some courses etc...

Well for owning a website, you have to pay with an proper credit card, should any of those numbers show up as having been stolen the site is downed immediately, and the person contacted to provide new information for credit card approval, and as such will be closely examined for content.

This model could be enforced at the lower level of ISP or DOmain provider, and then when a flag goes off, the feds are contacted just in case...fewer false negatives, and also less work for the feds. ...more responsibility for the domain provider or isp provider.

At some point they could trigger a more effective update scenario..."we have updated your system but see you are not using a legit copy of windows, if you want to be legal, we can send you a key for 49$."

You would see millions of people line up for that, because not only would it mean they are safe, but everyone who has a copy of windows illegally can now rest assured they won't be penalized...and in this unstable economy, how do you convince someone to get a legit key, if it isn't by making it very cheap. I know I will never get legit xp or vista because i can go linux. If M$ came to my door and said "hey uninstall or pay" I wuold uninstall unless it was cheap enough. 49$ is cheap enough.

an account of theirs for that, because they dont have to,where as you have to use yours to access your online banking, and the chances that you are stung is 1 in 1000 (about)...so they wait for that 1 in 1000, then they wait to see if you notice that extra 1.25 charge, then if you do, they reimburse you, and it ends there (although they log the call), and if enough of the same type of call is being logged, then they get the expert to take a look, and they find a new attack vector, or new scam.
