    I always felt there should be consequences fro their actions, being accountable for lost or stolen info....they should be charged for negligence! The more these cases bring big fines, the less they will skimp on security for keeping such info.

    Exactly, I tires this using a windows xp service pack2 with all the updates, then fired
    it into a configuration ...then ghosted the image, put it inside a sandbox using vmware, then whenever i use it after i finish, i return it to its original point which was a copy of itself before...i keep the windows clean except for FF, and never install anything on it...i keep this image
    burned on a disc, so i know the ghosted image will never change. Next time I use IE or FF i know it starts from a base where I know it was safe, and gets brought back to this version each time i boot up to access the web...it takes a few more minutes, but no need for AV as I do what I need and then log off, or turn off the image....and voila scrap for the next time I need it.

    I see this more for in the future when they do reconstructive surgery for replacing someone's legs....
    they need to add artificial nerves, as well as graft some skin and what not to make the artificial leg more believable....as when you look at real bone you see the nerves going through the bone in millions of little pin holes....so for us to make the same instead of worrying about making the holes...we would place the nerve optic fibers laying in place then fill the bone around it forming a reall leg so to speak.....this is way off though....looking at maybe another 20 years before seeing light.

    But you did not answer my question, even though you did educate me on the difference abouit the ozone layer and the magnetic layer (thanks for that).

    WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF DEFINING REGIONS TO THE MAGNETOSPHERE?

    I am not sure how to take this, are we supposed to now split the ozone into continents, and know which of these continents represent which area.....seriously, I believe that the ozone as one layer
    no need to waste time splicing up the ozone into regions, unless you plan to patent something in a particular zone a la M$.

    You are soooo totally right, I see this coming towards Total recall, with miners up on mars until someone discovers that great "find". I think we should concentrate on present day problems first, then if we get bored because we solved every problem here, then start wondering whats OUT THERE

    I am in Canada, and in Canada, there seems to be a faulty system in place which
    has many people reeling when this sort of thing happens,
    if you google it, you will see many people having a problem of
    fraud on their banking accounts because their institutions seem to honor
    to a fault the commitment from authorized debit.

    I tend to agree ...when you see how nice the javascript floating divs made by many of today's major companies for ads (on mouse over it pops up a nice display with ads for XXX) these are purely able based on DIV technology. They , alone are making quite an impact for advertising where there was none before.

    It will work, although i don't agree with this model, we are visual at the core, and a 3d shop will work more then a webpage...fact is proven when you add a simulated interactive virtual shopkeeper
    usually trying to decipher what gender to use based on past history from your browser, they will show the hot little mama shop keeper, and have her suggest things as you go... the mere thought that you are interacting with a great looking individual, even a virtual one, makes you want to buy more.

    I am not Einstein, and I could have told you that, what gave it away, seeing all those solar systems slowly moving towards the middle, the fact that galaxies usually look like big black holes anyways, or just maybe when those 2 galaxies collided a few months back (last year maybe?)...they showed patterns of gravity towards each other.....too little too late guys.

    You have obviously never been defrauded by a certain type of transaction pre-authorized, where it is not the cheque, but the authorization that is not able to be canceled. Try setting one up with your hydro, then last minute call the bank to cancel the authorization, they will tell you you have to contact the other party, and they will cancel it. If it is fraud, chances are you will not be able to contact them, then you will have to get your bank to start an investigation, etc,,etc.

    I still use cheques to avoid the auto debit thing, where once an organization has access, it is almost impossible to cancel.

    Actually I agree, there should consequences for trying to sue anything that moves and has an internet connection. Just cause you think they can download free music, doesn't mean they did.
    I have to say, if they were stuck paying all the court bills and lawyer fees for the defendant, they might think twice should this become a big million dollar suit. They should also be a track record kept, saying "hey you have been here 10 times this month already and lost most of them, you can't set foot back in here for another 6 months now". Might make them pick their battles a little wiser.

    Well ....having some points I would have given you very insightful, however,
    you have to leave some room for the newbie to grow and not get discouraged.
    I agree 100%, however telling someone they might not be in the right business,
    could be killing a dream before it has begun. I am a web developer too and even
    after years of working in the field as private contractor, I still have a few points
    missing from your list, yet I still make money, and still continue to work.

    I believe your plan is what you would plan for if you were a
    bigger company trying to stay afloat , not necessarily just trying to make extra bucks on the side
    keeping a separate day job. Some companies start like this and grow, then need to up the ante to make things really take off.

    I do agree, but keeping it low key for the beginner is ok too, as it might become over tough to have 20 contracts all of a sudden, with no employees and no time to do them all. Better to go slow at first to see what he likes , if he likes, and if he needs help.

    Funny I always thought there was more then 1 type of memory, guess I was right. Although
    it isn't always needed, triggering a traumatic episode during a course you need to remember, makes things easier to remember. Shock memory therapy I call it....when you remember that mugging like it was yesterday better then what you DID eat yesterday.

    Seriously, like M$ does not count as a search engine on its own?
    That would count as the competition.....no?
    So this would have gone to courts, made stocks drop even more, and left lawyers with alot of money,
    google with another case of jealousy for not buying their stocks while they were small time, and
    M$ hurt for being considered competition to google's search engine.

    I am sure M$ had something to do with it though, it smells too fishy....Balmer fishy!

    Unless its pirated, then you get what you pay for....hence all those who DON'T want to update ...hell even my web machine I dont bother with any AV or slow apps on it, as I ghost it
    and reinstall it every 10 days or so (in under 15 minutes) garanteeing me that I have a good computer most of the time,and when I dont , i will again very soon. (That one is not for banking!only torrent + etc.)

    I code things much quicker and better managed then others around me, yet when they ask me for analysis on paper, I tend to give them less then par documents. It's not for me to start trying to "sell" myself or the code or the project to them, I just have to let them know what I think, yet someone else who does a great job doing this gets more credit then i do, because they were able to write up nicer documents using powerpoint or word. Seriously, I have no problem, with having someone assigned to me to get my point across on paper, when all I need to do is change over the fault tolerance of a server in code in less then 6 lines because of space constraints. The guy can do all the bells and whistles he wants, Ive already solved the problem by the time he is finished making things look pretty.
