I just wish....banks would pay closer attention to making their website more phone friendly before anything else. That would go along way to making more accessible!
I tend to agree with your overall point of view, I find so much double standards in these types of cases. Take for example the fact that they took the child's phone without asking, did they have a warrant, are they police. How did they obtain the phone to know those pictures were on it.
Let's say again that that point was bypassed with xxx reason, then again just because he received the photo does not mean he is a criminal, as it stands i could send anyone of those judges a child p0rn photo if i knew their cell phone number, and then call the cops on them....wow they are now criminals, and even then if I did take a picture of myself for xxx reason, and kept it on my phone, this is legal because it is me, even if the picture is considered child p0rn because i am under age, i think too many people are getting into this witch hunt because of these child sex abuse cases popping up, which again say a child is 13, almost 14, and lies or what not....it becomes a gray area, because we try to find fault with everything these days, did the child even say they were molested or was it someone else that found out (maybe a parent or relative) and blew the whistle on them???
Anyways, back in the day, we used to be able to marry at 13 years old, and in different countries, you can even marry as young as 11 (Africa) in certain areas, but for us, we have to put a big TABOO sign up until the age of 18, not even allowed to consider talking about these things openly without incurring suspicious looks.
Mention the 3 words together law, sex and age, and the first thing people think about is prosecution or criminal activity....pretty negative on our parts.
>or they fear their government. Dude, you know this point is true, it does not take a tank to run you over for you to understand that the government will not listen to what you have to say over there. run you over
There was a previous post on slashdot (don't have link, just search for scanning books) about a guy who developed a scanner using 2 digital cameras, and a sort of cross diagonal flatbed to lay a book open at 45% and take pictures of both pages at once, and he used minimal mats, about 500$ worth. I am wondering how long before he patents it and makes them a fully functional book scanners, but I definitely hear your pain and feel the same about the programming books that are min 900 pages each!
I knew for a long time that education and gaming were going to mesh to not only help people learn better quicker but also because the degree of intense amusement when you achieve something, such as rewards. I play WoW, and the reason is I enjoy the gratification you get from being able to turn in quests and see yourself advance in the game.
You can link this type of mentality through any other field in life, such as business, marketing, even math and construction. I think making school a little more like real life not only helps push that mentality in our young ones, but also uses a medium they are quite familiar with to transfer the required knowledge. Go to youtube, and see the do it yourself videos on how to change an alternator on a car, or install some floor tiles for your bathroom.....it's all there, why not education as well.
I guess the only thing would be to set up school centers made purely to challenge the tests and be able to say you passed x grade. When someone wants to pass the bar (lawyers), they do not need to prove all the courses they have taken, merely pass the exam based on knowledge. I think this is more of the model we should push, and so be it,add a reward schema in the middle to help during the learning process.
I hope this guy pushes this very far, and hopefully gets a revolution going within the schooling system, we desperately need it! Enough with dropping the passing grade, for chr*sts sake, just make it so cool to do, that all students will WANT to learn that sh*t and then be able to pass with 90%, just like a raid in WoW!
Tell me you took down the Zeus botnet, then I will say you accomplished something, but of course the least dangerous botnet will be easier to take down, even the script kiddies know to cycle their botnets, and out with the old in with the new. So what if the botnet you took down is old and degenerate and has almost no spam left attached to its name, you can still make a name for yourself by taking it down, right?
I am wondering if the CPU cycling is better then the quad core intel chips we use in pcs today, could we not just force a use cpus on vid cards instead of cpus on motherboard to do stuff with? Then i could buy 2 cards, one which could be used as a real vid card, then the other to replace the cpu of the machine, and technically, we could also use this for backwards compatibility, say if we used it in a P3 computer, it would definitely improve performance greatly seeing as now you have a kickass cpu instead of the old P3....???
See, when I hear about these types of projects, i think that they can't be all that bad, I mean they offer a lower cost efficient way of transport and offer to pay half of it with labor, while the other countries offer the mats. for it. I wonder if there is a hidden agencda, but I can't see it...the pros far out way the cons here.
And funny enough, reinstalling windows would have taken only 30 minutes of his time... had he the windows cd that came with the computer. This is why I hate the computer world, no one tries to push this enough, M$ loves to hear that you bought a new computer, and new license for windows... as well, now there is even more power available to the botnet writers since you will visit that same site that got you infected in the first place. More power...more emails!
I saw the movie where everything is almost underwater in the movie 2012, and i think learning to build big mobile underwater habitats is a wickedly good idea, just in case...i'm just saying
>The Classmates Media unit posted $58.8 million in operating profit for 2009, Funny how this correlates with the fact that I have recently received all these emails from them saying my old buddies had left me messages etc,...and wanted to talk to me, however close i came to joining, i didn't, and am glad now, cause i saw more of them on facebook then here...they should offer this for free and offer extra features for some profits, or turn to ad revenue completely to remain competitive to facebook.
Just get it up already, move all the p0rn stuff to those sites, and then any p0rn caught not on those sites, get deleted from the web, not only can you properly monitor the p0rn web stuff for whatever x reason you have as gov., but also makes it safer for kids for a filter to just block a domain extension then an actual full list!
Ask them to pull their heads out of their asses, and they might hear something out there. I had a friend that worked for them a long time ago, and when they fight so hard all the time to get people to accept them instead of focusing on the problems of how to get on board one of those missions to send up their own satellite, and make progress, that is where they miss all the good opportunities to evolve into a better more efficient fact finding organization.
I wonder if this really is just about the supposed moral issue that goes along with cell cloning, or if just being the tissue is being created as needed and not as a whole human being cut up, can it still fall under the moral grounds issue of not being acceptable? Has anyone bothered to show the politicians this point, and how absurd this is now because you can clone cells and then help regenerate tissue, nerves and what not, without cloning the whole individual or even the whole body part...?
I tend to think the only problem with this plan is...if for some reason a fissure or earthquake ends up happening... what happens to that cave/mine....will there be any environmental issues or even maybe dangerous circumstances to compressing air within this manner.....and also, if there is a leak, it will be hard to know about until we go to use it and notice no compression of air happening.....unless they were to also add some sort of sealed barrier from the inside and maybe even add a sort of implicit device that pings back compression info and sensors for being able to find broken seals.
Some people really need to stop posting what they are doing or about to do....gives a heads up to the trojan writers what to think of next to counter the attacks. I think it is a great feat none the less, but could we have really kept them down longer had we not had a play by play....also like the Borg, now they know the type of attack vectors that are being used against them, so they will adapt, and figure a new way to connect to control and command centers, I know I would had i just finished spending all my time on my botnet, and someone figured out how to munch my communication to it.
>After all, how many professors ban pens and notebooks after noticing students doodling in the margins?' I have to agree here, it is not because someone misuses a technology that you have to ban it, tell that to those stupid bastards over at FIAA thinking anything torrent is pirated.
I agree going just one and not another could proove useful in the end, hybrids are the best of both worlds, because not everywhere has charging stations, am i wrong? Where you live , how many gas stations also have power stations?
Scam shmam, if it was a scam, they would not have spent wso much on patents, and get sponsors to pier review from unbiased sources their claims. Anyone investing in such a project could ask for the stats, and then have their own team review the findings, anyone with millions would do such a thing, anyone investing 5$ on the stock market should not worry about being scammed.
Guaranteed WoW is probably half of that figure....damn game, can't quit even if I wanted to....I gotta have the next tier gear. Wait till cataclysm comes out, it will get even worse...more people will sign up pushing the overall subscriptions passed 14 million.
I just wish....banks would pay closer attention to making their website more phone friendly before anything else.

I'm not your pal , chief!

200 pages per minute, that would be like 3 minutes a book (big one). When these come out to the public, I want one!
