I don't get the big huge deal over RFIDs and "all the access to personal data they'll give" crap. RFID can't transmit a huge ammount of data, all it really can transmit is a little serial number. That serial number is then checked against a database backend.

RFIDs are great. Databases are what's evil.

That, and the industry will find some way to market it. Hell, GM could just call it an upgrade to its OnStar service, and people wouldn't think twice.

How much fuel do you have? No, seriously, that directly determines how long a scramjet engine will last.

Quick overview on how a scramjet works, for those of you who may not know. Basically, it can't work until it's already going really fast. All it does then is start a flow of fuel into the engine. The air flowing really fast through it ignites and burns, creating thrust. It's pretty much the simplest engine ever. The reason it took em so long to figure it out is that it has to be shaped perfectly and you have to GET it to ludicrous speed before you can maintain that speed.

Ya... those numbers don't nessasarily mean anything. Since you can't measure the ACTUAL page creation time (you have to create the text that says how long it took!) those numbers just measure a time from point A to point B. The time differences could be different simply because the web designers put points A and B in different places. Also, what type of server side scripting do both Yahoo and Google use? This can also greatly contribute to the time differences.

Hear hear! I concur. I love the SW line of Space Combat Sims. I liked X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter cause you could play either Rebellion or Imperials. I also liked the gameplay in X-Wing Alliance (added lots of cool stuff, as in frieghters, docking, better wingmate commands, etc...), and the storyline kinda didn't suck, but once you were done with the game, then it really sucked. (Kinda like Freelancer, if any of you have played that - Great game also, made by Microsoft, but once you beat it, then it's really repetative and boring. It's a space sim/RPG)

When I bought the WarCraftIII battle chest, I first looked online for pricing. I found a website that was selling it for $30. I went to Best Buy. They wouldn't give me a discount, so I went to CompUSA. CompUSA first said "We don't honor on-line ads.", but then the guy went and asked his manager, and I got it for $30! Moral of this story? I'm going to CompUSA from now on! If you're nice to your customers, they will come back, and in the end, you will turn a profit, because although they are buying discounted, they keep returning to you instead of someone else!
