If the top stories continually run along the lines of "John Kerry is a Gay Commie Space Alien" just because some 2nd tier nutso conservative blog figured out how to best exploit the indexing algorithm
I think the plan would backfire anyway. Kerry would get far more support if people thought he was an interstellar space traveller. Warp overdrives are way cooler than purple hearts.
But if you did talk about the DMCA and encrypt the results, it would require someone else to violate the DMCA to decrypt the results to prove your guilt. Furthermore, it would take someone to even think about violating the DMCA, thereby being in automatic violation of the DMCA, to even suspect that you violated the DMCA.
Ignorance of the issues concerning the National Debt lead to Big Profit on the part of Banks (and other Lenders) to whom the Debt is owed.
Bullshit. We the People are the banks. The government owes us--its employees, contractors, etc. Besides, you can't profit off of interest unless that interest, and the debt, are actually paid off sometime, which doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon.
That brings up an interesting point. Candidates from the mainstream political parties vary in their personal opinions. For example, there are plenty of pro-choice Republicans, Democrats who oppose gay marriage, Republicans who don't want to privatize Social Security, and Democrats who support(ed) the war on Iraq.
The smaller, up-and-coming parties are still trying to develop a public identity and carve a niche for themselves. As such, these candidates tend to be more closely aligned with the official party ideals. Do you feel that these strong ideals make third-party candidates seem too extreme to much of the public? What can your party do to impress voters who are more pragmatic?

Singular or plural? What'll it be, AdamTheBastard? Is Michael Swilder one person, or are they all working together to conspire against proper grammar and subject-pronoun agreement?
I'd say the vast majority of websites vary slightly each time you reload them, due to ad content. Granted, sites with ads on them should probably be big enough to avoid a minor slashdotting, and they probably wouldn't want their pages to be cached anyway, since advertisers typically pay based on the eyeball count.
All the links on Slashdot have the format <a href="//slashdot.org/blahblahblah">
so that they will always link back to Slashdot. Most websites just use "blahblahblah" or "/blahblahblah" for their links. For example, links on google.com.nyud.net are fully functional.
revenge only invites escalation, whereas forgiveness diffuses the problem before it can.
I think you're half right there. Once in a high school art class, I was drawing something and this jackass sitting across the table kept spinning his book, shoving it as close as possible to my paper, closer and closer each time, just to get a reaction from me. Eventually I grabbed the book and shoved it off the table, but he just continued with another book.
So I grabbed the book and threw it at his head. That revenge did invite escalation, because he walked around the table and hit me, and then I elbowed him in the crotch. Then it was over, and that kid never bothered me again. But forgiveness? I tried that for about five minutes before I chucked the textbook at his head. Forgiveness doesn't always diffuse things.
If 100 GB is 250,000 songs, then each song file is about 400k. But if 40 petabytes is the equivalent of 10.5 million songs, then each song file must be about 4000 MB.
Incredible how much that arrow looks like a smaller scale model of the rocket used in the comicbook about Tintin from the French cartoonist Hergé.
But not altogether surprising. Science imitates art all the time, whether it's a fiction novel, movie, or even a comic. How many neat inventions have appeared in a Jules Verne story or an episode of "Star Trek" many years before they were ever built in real life? This is just one more case.
Nuh uh! Amazon already holds those patents.
I think it's interesting how LONG these astronauts are living. They seem to all be getting up to the 70s/80s.
That shouldn't be surprising. Everybody knows the government blasts them full of Alien DNA to make them live longer.
the only way they can dispose of trash and human waste is by loading these items in Russian cargo ships that burn up in the atmosphere.
So even if the snow doesn't look yellow, it's probably not good to eat.

Easy. The instructions are nonspecific, so assume each letter represents a number, rather than just a digit. Let O (the variable) = 0 (the number).
0*(W*W*W*D*T) - 0*(G*G*L*E) = 0*(D*T*C*M) for any values of W, D, T, G, L, E, D, C, and M.
Tin-foil hats work, I tell you!
I don't have a problem with that, as long as they bring huge barrels of Wonton Soup back to the States with them.

Yeah, is our economy really that bad that the creation of a single new job deserves recognition on the /. front page?

At some point down the road, they will likely unify them to increase performance.
In the meantime, they should just put a bright red sticker on the box that says "DUAL CACHE!" It is documented, so it's a feature, not a bug.
Actually, the link in the summary is wrong. Here's the actual article.
Yes.
4 * 10^9 bytes = 4 GIGABYTES per song.
Nice math, too.

But what if R9 represents a negative value?
Then it would be the fault of the "-" camp for not simply using absolute values and calling it "DVD+|R9|".
Why not just reach behind the machine and unplug the ethernet cable? Won't do much for people on wireless connections, of course....

There is no Noble Prize for mathematics. Thanks, it was very "nobel" of you to point that out.
