I am glad that Charter kicked their ass in this. Very glad. I didn't mean to look like I flaunted, I was just stating that if I do download illegally, which I don't, iTunes is my friend, then I wouldn't be caught for a while...IF I illegally downloaded.
ThanX for the insight! I will reword myself later.
ThanX for that info, I really didn't think of doing that. Yes, I have downloaded FreeSBIE and am going to try it tonight.
You really hit the nail on the head with that one, If it is just because you've heard it's cool... I do like Linux but I find it hard for me to go over to it. Some things just don't work right for me, i.e. 3D Accelleration with my ATI Radeon 9600, some sound card issues with my Sound Blaster Live. The closest "flavor" I have used that best fits me is FC3.
I tried FreeBSD once and tried to install and yes, I got discouraged because it was a little too hard for me to install. I like da GUI's that help me out, this one hardly had one, was terminal based, and hard to configure. If you want to give FreeBSD a spin because you want to understand UNIX-land better or have needs for the stability of the platform, then rough starts should not be anything to discourage you. I might do this again later on. ThanX for the tips!!
Maybe I am just stupid but it is kind of hard to install. I am a Unix newbie. I have downloaded FreeBSD and almost had it installed but I have failed many times, therefore going back to Linux or even Windows. If they can make the installers just a bit more user friendly like this, then I am all for it.
...seriously read Slashdot. I tune out other people when I read this and the office noise I here goes down as I intensely read the posts here.
Note: I work in a call center and I get calls from people that are mad. I usually have to tell them a couple of times to repeat what they said as I am reading Slashdot.
Again, this is not a plug for Slashdot, this is what I do to tune out the noise here.
...wants us to think we are going to die by an asteroid don't they? They can't make up their minds to decide if and when we die. Should we call them our gods?:D
I didn't have the stuttering bugg as they said. Only after I loaded a new area I stuttered with the sound for 2 seconds, no problem to me at all. However, since the upgrade, I stutter every time somebody speaks. The weapon sounds, engine sounds, everyday sounds are ok, but when people talk, stut-ut-ut-uter every time. I wonder if they will release a patch to fix my problem. Yes, I have posted this problem to Steam/Valve as well.
...stutters because I have an Athlon running at 1GHz. It stutters when there it too much action going on. My ATI Radeon 9800 256MB w/1.17GB SDRAM helps, but not much.
I am using this now and I have not had any problems with displaying video.
I play on occasion Halo for PC on my computer. I did a test. I ran Halo with the default updated drivers from ATI and the textures looked ok, everything rendered correctly. I installed the OmegaDrivers and everything became clearer, much sharper than the original drivers. These drivers work and I would suggest you try these out. It made a difference to me while playing Halo on my PC.
Nah, I will stay with ATI. I have recently bought HL2. I have a Radeon 9800, the 256MB version. It runs HL2 like it was nothing. I have not had a problem with running HL2, only to see that I need a faster processor tho. My HL2 is not failing right now nor has it ever in the last 5 days when I bought the bugger.
I have you as a friend here, I have your AOL, I will get in contact with ya tonight! ;) :D

I am in St. Louis, MO and use Charter. I have been following this for a while and I am glad that this is over. I won't be getting caught! :D
I use 2 soup cans tied together with some yarn to make my calls! :D

Do I need to continue?

Unix is great!, unless:
......
- You just want a plug and pray answer
- You just want a word processor
- You just want
- ???
- Profit!

Or what about the packing peanuts? Some of those shrink when they get wet!

When I had Mandrake 9.0, it found my XP NTFS and was reading and writing to it with no problem.
And then the other walls you are bitching at will finally load when you crash into them!

Some friend of mine were going to do this as well but with a different game, Enemy Territory for PC. It didn't work out tho, we got lazy! :D
Oops! Sorry! Blond moment! ^_-
My question is that since it is inflatable and space is a vaccuum, wouldn't the inflatable device implode on itself?
