Using the AIM client when YOU add someone else it prompts you where to add the person. If someone else adds you, you wont know untill that person eather IMs you or you become cloaked because too many people have you on their budy list. (I think it's after about 2,000).
When I logged into AIM I thought that I got h4x3d until I saw the message. Is there any client which don't add this SNs? My roommate says that he doesn't have any problems with Trillian.
I think the problem would be finding local users.
Plus, finding the torrent files would be hard.
And, when you are at such high speeds, a straight P2P would be easier and faster. When you can upload and download at over a Mb a second, torrent isn't worth it. You can derrectly send a gig in well under 20 min. You can get a song in literaly one second.
Torrents wouldn't be logical. P2P is the best option.
Without going on and on about this, if you have problems with M$ and SONY, you don't have a choice for next-gen gaming because we all know Nintendo will crash and burn because of their crappy controller.
It seems like two CD drives, one with the Sony CD and one with Knoppix, would be the perfect way for someone to rip the music with ease. Now while WE know how to do this, most people don't.
What exactly happens when you try to rip or burn one of the CDs?
In the middle of a FPS forums, I wouldn't believe there to be a chick. Because everyone knows that only nerds and geeks use the Internet. And 99.9% of woman are NOT nerds or geeks. This becomes a problem because you have millions of men growing up on Internet and not believing in the opposite gender. Or they only believe that woman have really big boobs and dress like sluts.
Now don't get me wrong! I personaly don't believe in these so called "people of another gender." Babys drop the sky and ride magical stars down... kinda like Kirby.
My room mate has an older USB WiFi card. They look like thumb drives but they are for Wi-Fi. He hookes it up to his desktop with an extention cord and hangs it near the window to try and pick up wi-fi if ever needed.
I personaly use a Linksys Wireless-G card for my laptop. It works fine for me when I'm in wi-fi rang but I have problems picking it up in funny places or when I have a week signal.
Do they really expect to get luck with a website looking like THAT?
I love their extensions section which has this in it: "Bandwidth Tester - This is a Firefox extension that tells you the bandwidth of your current Internet connection. It is very useful if you have a laptop and use it in different areas and networks frequently."
I looked at/. late last night and relized that the text looked very different. So I turned to my 1337 roommate and told hom that/. looked different. Now I knew that/, was getting re-coded but I didn't know that that was the new code. But he couldn't get it looking right so I just left it be and ofcorse this morning they admit that they went under our noses and re-coded.
I can't wait to see how the rest of the project goes!
Windows has a built in on-screen keyboard. I've worked with disability resorcesbefore and I've heard that this can be very useful for people who have limited conrtol over their muscals. The on-screen keyboard is easy enough to use and has plenty of setings. There is even a setting where you don't need to click the buttons, just lay your curser over the button for X seconds.
USB drives are small, tiny, easy to use, fast, and reusable. Burning a DVD takes time and "wasting" a DVD. With a USB drive, you plug it in, copy it over and your done. No burning, no playing wiht the CD drive. Just drag and drop. Then you pocket it. Bring it to the computer you want the info on. Drag and drop. You want to erase your tracks? Drag the files from the drvie to the trash. DONE!
While this may make USB drives dangorus, it also makes them VERY helpful! The guy down the hall wants the newist version of the presentation? Plug in, Drag, and Drop. The main office on the other side of the contry need all your data and ton of PowerPoints? Plug in, Drag, Drop and Over-Night it. My dad has done this many times. Plus, USB drives are smaller, cheaper, and easier to get then ever before! Many companies GIVE THEM AWAY. Sure, they may have the Visa logo on it but a little rubbing and gone. And besides, who cares? A free USB drive is a FREE USB DRIVE.
The other problem I an see with them is that they can carry viruses. If you plug it into an infected comp, it can infect others. But a good virus scan can pervent this.
I can see a BIG use of them if you could boot uncommen software off one. So if you need to show a file in a funny format you can plug the card into any comp and view/change the file.
USB cards aren't only used to "store" data. I have several and I rarely use them simply to "store" data. I use it for moving information. Whether that's a paper for school or a huge power point or several programs for a friend's computer. In business, USB cards can be very helpful. I know that my dad uses email to transfer information back and forth. However, if you have a huge presentation with lots of media in it, e-mail doesn't cut it. E-mailing a 500mb file is not an easy task. So what do they do? They put it on a USB drive and give them the card or if it's long distance, over-night it. My dad also gets a ton of these cards as free give-a-ways from companies so it's not like they are rare. But with the prices of these cards dropping lower and lower, they can be used as very useful tools. At school I often lent it to people who simply wanted to copy a jpg from one computer to another. USB cards can often be faster then copying over a network, especially if you have to log in especially for it. At school, there wasn't even an easy way to share files, most people resulted to email.
"73 percent of smart phone users are aware of viruses and attacks aimed at their handsets."
This is bull. If you stoped 1,000 people on the streat and asked them if cell phone viruses exist, 998 will laugh at you, 1 will say yes, and 1 will bable off in 1337 speak. While people has been able to make cell viruses, they aren't out there yet. Atleast not to my knowlage...
The bigger question is who would wast their time making spyware for MacOS? But it's not MacOS as a whole, it's just Safari. So few people use Safari when compared to IE and FF (and maybe Opera). I know that at my school which runs Macs, almost everyone uses IE on the computers without FF (Oddly, FF has picked up a lot of use on the computers with it even though many people started off not knowing about it.)
Don't get me wrong, I think Macs are great but there isn't enough people using it to encorage spywate.
This can change though since I saw spyware on FF on one of my other computers. (That's what happens when kids try to play neopets and go on rampage downloading sprees.)
It's really sick that someone can use a video game in a defence and get off the hook. And this is coming for a gamer BTW.
What's next? A man open fires and claims that he does it in videogames all the time? If you don't know the difference between real life and a video game then you shouldn't by playing!
In order for those a little too young:
- Mario Brothers
- Doctor Mario
- Something from mario for just a sec. (Unsure of exactly what)
- Tetris
- Mortal Combate
- Mario Dungeon Theam
- Zelda
There are TONS of gamers under 18. Your talking about an age where kids as young as 10 (and even younger) are playing videogames. And these 10 yearolds are playing more then school games, they're fragging away at games like Halo and CS.
While young kids shouldn't be playing such FPS games, you can't simply ban games for kids under 18! Tons of teens in highschool spend their nights fragging and highschool starts at 14 and 15.

I play TFC all the time and the server I play in has always had at least one or 2 female games. To make it more odd, they were all over 21...

And is that Plain Old Text!?
I was searching "Perfect 10" and got NOTHING with Safe on. So I turned it off and still nothing!
Start, Accessories, Accessibility, On-Screen Keyboard.
The only posible problem is that the keyboard is on the smaller side. Your cna change the font size but not the button size.
It had to be done. Those Asians were too good at Counter Strike for their own good!

I was actualy going to point this out but didn't get around to it. Plus I'm someone else probably already posted this...
But *GASP* he forgot to give us a link!
Wrong! http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=virus

It's funny BC I just played Dr Mario again the day before I saw the video. It made me have no choice but play it somemore.
- Mario Brothers
- Doctor Mario
- Something from mario for just a sec. (Unsure of exactly what)
- Tetris
- Mortal Combate
- Mario Dungeon Theam
- Zelda
It's so bad, yet soo good

I'll probably crack if they take away my video games!
